Let us going to do an exercise. If we were going to originate a new enterprise. Who are we
going to engage? It´s obviously these people have to be qualified (efficiency, responsibility,
intellectual abilities for their fields, etc). There can be no doubt that we will put our eyes in
these people´s j j    G in their past, what they were, what they have done, the
mistakes they occasionally could have made. There can be no doubt that we would
interview them to know who they are right now, the way as they think, their moral
approaches and their ethic sense.

There can be no doubt that we would think in our work team very well. !It´s our project¡
!It´s our company! And what we want about it is it were successful, it had the chance to
expand in new markets, it could come every time at more and more people, it could satisfy
the needs of these people, it could supply their lifes« in other words, we want to win a
place in a highly competitive world.

This is the way oh think for a lot of people, but I wasn´t for Jesus. ³Not as man sees does
God see, because man sees the appearance but the LORD looks into the heart."2 The
background of his project its clear: Love.

Jesus chose those whom he desired. He made it not to create a new sect, a closed group, a
fans club that shouted him for their actions and miracles but to associate them closely to his
same mission and destination, to prepare the futures guides of the new Covenant´s
communities. None of the elects was a supermanG neither of they were influential people in
the social structure, neither wise famous teachers, intellectuals or aristocracy people.
Maybe Jesus had gone better if he had been surrounded of more grateful people but as we
see, to carry out his work (his project, his dream), Jesus, preferred what didn't count
socially. Thus, it shows better the action and the saving force of God.

It is necessary to say that Jesus' project is not only thought from the individuality. It is
about of a humanization project that it is necessary to share with others, it should be
announced. For that, it will be necessary to break borders and to confront new historical-
cultural circumstances. Ii is true the list of those who were with Jesus opens up with Pedro,
but it doesn´t closes with Judas. The list extends with the time and increases every time
more. The first twelve are the summarize of the history of the church and each pupil's
personal history.

To share the life with the Teacher means to learn directly of their behavior what it is
necessary to make. If the pupil learns this first and great lesson, in moments of difficulty it
will be enough he wonders what the Teacher would make, to find the sure answer. To be
with Jesus is not to learn what he made, to repeat it later. It means something more: to
acquire their approaches, to have the freedom of making new things (those that demands
each time, each place, each culture, each new history) always according to what would
make it the same Jesus.

Now, let us look at our life. Do we live genuinely what we are? Do we deepen in the first
motivations of our pursuit of Jesus so we grow more and more in our person's knowledge
of him, in his work and in his message? With the pass of the time, ¿do we go forward, do
we decline or do we go back in the Teacher's pursuit? Are we audacious to invite others to
go aboard with happiness and generosity in the great adventure of Jesus¶ pursuit? Do we
share the vocation in the atmospheres we move? Is our lifestyle that of the resigned ones or
that of the hopeful ones, that of the busy ones or that of the available ones?

As Jesus¶ Apostles and His Co-workers the whole Church is called to evangelize in
ample fields. This diversity of services in the unit of the same mission constitutes the
wealth and the beauty of Evangelization.

Through the Pope Benedict XVI´s catechesis about the firsts Jesus´ pupils compiled in the
book ³The Apostles and their co-Workers´ , the Pope remind` us that the calling: ³ ome and

follow me R` `R RR  He has chosen us, formed during several years of intimacy,
constituted and errand as witness and teachers of the Salvation message. The first Twelve
have sent their successors in turn that, in the Aphostolic line, they continue preaching the
Good one New. But they are not alone, they have co-workers around the world who help to
extend the most wonderful notice: Jesus is alive, he has resuscitated. But they are still few,
The LORD needs of people disposed to give of their selves and to be able, as Isaiah, Maria,
Peter, John, Paul, Stephen« with a willing heart, to say: Here I am.
