Jim,

Updated spreadsheet to include today's confirmed receipts. Based on larger task force spreadsheets,
I believe that the Australian $ 7.6 M was donated directly to the American Red Cross (State won't
see this donation in our records, and the Indonesian $ 25 K was a private donation ( I can see this in
Dept. records based on collection at post). Both of these items should be removed from the cash
spreadsheet.

I don't yet have the amount of $. Equatorial Guinea has not yet actually made the
donation (to the Red Cross). They are waiting on instructions for how'to do this from us.
They could have their embassy make a donation to the Red Cross or our embassy in Malabo
could accept the money. (Seems like the former is the quickest) Which method do you
prefer?

Allison,

This is very interesting. However, because they have been referred to the Red Cross, we
may not know about -- and therefore not acknowledge -- their contribution to the effort.

Please contact Post and see if we can ascertain whether the GREG followed through with
their "gesture of solidarity" 'and, if so, in what amount?
