Summer Sunday school is starting in a couple of weeks and we need your

will do monthly hands-on service projects. Earth Camp (p.5)
You can volunteer for one or several dates. Summer is a great time to
volunteer, especially if you have other obligations throughout the program
year that take a break during the summer. Make a difference in a kid’s life and

SEEKS THERAPIST FOR
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT

Are you a person who enjoys exploring
different cultures while helping those in
need? Hennepin’s Russia Partnership is
looking for a person who has worked
with children suffering from severe
disabilities to help on projects we are
supporting in Russia.
For the last several years, the Russia
Partnership has worked with Marilyn
Bauch, a behavioral specialist who
works with children in Russia through a
program called the Island of Hope. She
visits Russia annually to provide services
that these children desperately need but
which they too often find lacking.
Marilyn is looking for someone to
accompany her to Russia to assist in her
work with the children. The ideal person
would be a physical or occupational
therapist who has experience working
with young children with cerebral palsy
and severe learning problems. Currently,
there are practically no medical or
educational services available for these
children and parents are desperate for
help in knowing what they can do.
Travel to Russia would be required
for a 2-3 week visit, most likely in Fall
2011. The Russia Partnership would be
willing to subsidize travel expenses for
this trip as well. The ideal candidate
would also be willing to consider taking
a long-term interest in this project. If
this sounds like an opportunity that
would be right for you, or if you know
of others who would be a good fit for it,

On Sunday morning, June 5th, we
will have a guest choir in worship. The
85-voice youth choir from First United
Methodist Church of Smyrna, GA will
