PROVEN ABILITIES AND RESULTS
Serving Clients and Stakeholders
Rescued a $1.5 M service delivery contract from cancellation by increasing valu
e to client. Absorbed more responsibility, provided enabling technologies and s
ervices, took on tasks proving difficult and/or undesirable for the client to pe
rform and delivered data acquisition services at a 99% uptime level.
Changed client relationship from order taker to a partner/consultant by increas
ing knowledge of clients business, delivering efficiency improvements and cost s
avings of $2 M annually, and helping meet client and leadership goals and commit
ments. This established a strong, thriving and trusting client relationship.
Coordinated the client and its globally located IT and product engineering pers
onnel critical to the integration activity with its new parent corporation.
Created enabling tools for clients product development engineering business.
Provided quality IT services and support for the following client functional ar
eas: Electronic Systems, Product Engineering Laboratory, Field Service-Warranty
& Distributor Support, Product Design-Integrated Product Development, and Sales
Engineering.
Delivered high quality IT services to a major, automotive electronics, design,
manufacturing and product engineering organization. Functional areas were the f
ollowing: Manufacturing, Reliability Engineering, Service Engineering, Sales & M
arketing Engineering. Client satisfaction reached a partner relationship level.
Led process re-engineering teams in the Kaizan improvement process and improve
d manufacturing, general business and engineering process productivity and effic
iency.
Managing/Directing
Improved retention of high performance, quality team members, motivating strong
cooperation.
Steered teams of applications development, consulting and infrastructure suppor
t personnel (25 to 75) in the delivery of manufacturing, engineering, new produc
t, development testing, IT systems
Managed projects to refresh technology upgrade applications to meet continually
changing business requirements and integrate client with their globally based p
arent.
Delivered IT services to a major, heavy duty, diesel engine design and manufact
uring product development engineering testing laboratory
Managed a project to implement a campus wide multi-plant system to support Semi
conductor Manufacturing System (SMS). The system was a product tracking, paramet
er measurement and product cost system developed by a third party supplier. It r
eplaced manual processes.
Led a cross functional team to acquire computing, networking and other infrastr
ucture resources needed to run the SMS successfully.
Tailored the SMS to meet clients needs, create user documentation and train use
rs as the application was implemented by manufacturing.
Managed projects to deliver product tracking, planning and scheduling for a pla
stic molding operation, and resolved contract requirements and obligation misund
erstandings.
Planning
Managed projects to prepare for emerging best practices.
Developed a strategic IT plan for the client.
Evaluated services to be delivered, costs of resources to meet obligations, cli
ent expectations and aligned them accordingly to provide stability, quality and
client satisfaction.
Experienced in PERT (Program Evaluation & Review Technique), CPM (Critical Path
Planning Method) and the Microsoft Project tool.
Financial Management
Successfully managed the profitability of a $5 M dollar Engineering IT support
business and grew it by $1 M annually and selected high performance team members
to meet this growth
Evaluated service needs, cost of resources, client expectations and aligned the
m accordingly to provide stability, quality, refreshed technology and captained
successfully a $10 M dollar business supporting Engineering IT needs for an OEM
automotive electronics component manufacturing operation.
Technical Skills
Implemented a process level computer based budgeting system for semiconductor ma
nufacturing.
Designed and implemented a $2.9 M cost saving assembly process for audio speake
r manufacturing.
Effectively performed evaluation of operational processes, identified best prac
tices and improvements, improved quality, reduced expense, provided capacity to
meet schedules and established an accurate cost of product for automotive electr
onics component manufacturing.
Implemented a common process description for three semiconductor integrated cir
cuit fabrication facilities, which helped to achieve a true cost of product for
these operations.
Developed a course encompassing practical usable Industrial Engineering skills
and tools for the Division and trained 60 IE personnel, leading to consistency i
n costing product and proper use of tools. It included defining standardized ma
chine efficiency and machines per person formulae across the Division. This inf
ormation was shared with other GM component divisions.
Designed planned and coordinated cross functional teams, developed floor plans
and implemented model year capacity planning requirement, equipment changes and
upgrades on production floor which led to greater efficiency and ability to asse
mble required product volume.
Developed capacity and design requirements for two Automatic Storage and Retrie
val Systems to free up production floor space.
