Bette Midler drives off a cliff and
dies within the first five minutes
of the movie. "Drowning Mona,"
a satirical comedy with "Ruthless
People" co-stars, Midler and
Danny De Vito, is about a woman
who has been "accidentally** killed
in a suspicious car accident The
suspects? Well, let*s see 1 there
are the usuals ... her husband, her
son, her son's fiance and her
husband* s mistress. Needless to
say, everyone wanted her dead.
But don* t worry, chief policeman
De Vito will figure out who killed
only funny if you sat there in the
movie theater and made fun of it
The laughs were few and far
between and De Vito, as well as
the rest of the gang, were not up
to par. With an unfortunate
anticlimatic plot and a poorly
written script, the movie was only
able to stand on actor Casey.

out again. There are many
different types of labyrinths with
roots tracing back to ancient
cultures. The Common Ground's
particular labyrinth is a 35-foot

looked as lethal to Mercyhurst as
a chemistry class experiment
gone wrong.
Mercyhurst, however, looked
and played sharp on the road
against Ashland Saturday and
Sunday. Except for a scattered
defensive and pitching holes that*
led to a few huge Eagle innings,
Spano*s men looked every bit the
part of league favorite as
Ashland did.
The two teams split double-
headers both days, with Mercy-
hurst taking Saturday's opener
23-9 and Sunday's second game
15-7. The Eagles' victories were
just as lopsided, with a 17-8 win
in Saturday's nightcap and a 9-1
verdict to open Sunday's play.
