ribute to new electrical and telecom systems. Can apply talents as Licensed Pro
fessional Engineer to create solutions to a given set of problems.
SUMMARY:
* From November 2008 - May 2009 was Telecom Design Engineer for Patrick Engineer
ing. Determined where to place backboards and where to mount incoming telecom g
ear to interface T1 and fiber cable to internal RJ45 connections to a router. S
ketched designs for drafting and review prints before final QA. Wrote Bill-of-M
aterial and Instructions to Contractors how to install equipment and where incom

modified drawings. Due to economy customer delayed projects.
* Have five years experience with Patrick (2003-2008) as a totally independent C
ustomer Project Engineer for ComEd in Joliet area. Reviewed & analyzed customer
requirements and created design for distribution system additions or modificati
ons. Oversee project from first customer call, to billing to finish, answering
any construction concerns or questions. Provided safe design on-time, per speci
fications at least cost to ComEd (and the external customer) ranging from small
zero-billable jobs to $740,000 complex billable underground and relocation job.
* Spent over twelve total years in ComEd Regional Engineering group in Chicago S
outh designing 4KV, 12KV and 34KV distribution systems revisions or additions.
As Senior Engineer for the last ten years managed and assigned workload and revi
ewed schedules of eight engineers and three clerical support people. Work inclu
ded all overhead, underground and duct work and some vault and station modificat
ions. Most recent tour was from 1993-2003.
* Ten years spent on computer hardware installation and repair, from PC's to min
i for two different projects, MAINNET communication system (FERC regional group)
and LaSalle & Braidwood Control Room Simulators (1981-1991). Started as Projec
t Engineer, ended as Senior Engineer after four years when management and schedu
ling duties began.
o Did initial hardware and software testing at simulator factory over 18 months
to improve speed of long-distance screen refresh rates.
o Wired and installed panel and computer components at simulator factory to keep
production on-schedule
o Contacted vendor and did site design for 480 volt UPS installation, air condit
ioning and electrical panel design, including contract creation and contract bid
review.
o Did testing, modification, installation and repair of all simulator panel and
electronic hardware, as required. Included site visits to custom vendors to rev
iew specifications and equipment.
o Managed and scheduled work for five contractors and two technicians' workload
for Power Plant simulators. Kept simulators up 99.9% on 24/7 clock during train
ing.
o Fixed MAINENET hardware and communication problems from RS-232 to telephone li
nes to RJ-45 10BaseT Ethernet and associated PC's and DEC VAX machines. Answer
ed Help Desk phone 24/7 interfacing with seven electric utilities.
* Trained people for one year on custom ComEd computer CAD program called TED (1
992)
* Five years in ComEd Technical Group as go-to group as Engineer then Project En
gineer when first scheduling duties began. Analyzed interference problems in RI
/TVI/EMI and Acoustics taking field measurements, interpreting the results and i
nstructing distribution, transmission, substation or generating station personne
l how to fix the problems
