PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1. Internship at Neuron Biomed Equipment Pvt. Ltd, India.
May 2010 - Present
Working on the development of software for monitoring and controlling of embedde
d medical devices from a central terminal. The devices have a serial port (RS -
232) interface. Development is being done on a Linux platform. C++ is being used
for implementation.
2. Internship at Persistent Systems Ltd., India
Jul 08 - Apr 09
The project involved developing a SaaS platform which provides the facility to h
ost recruitment applications in the cloud. Major functionalities supported by th
e platform are tenancy partitioning, billing, and metering. Development platform
used was the Java J2EE framework and JavaDB used at back-end. UML was used for
modeling and design.

GRADUATE PROJECTS
1. Analysis and Simulation of Packet mis-sequencing in VLB architecture
Jan 2010 - Apr 2010
Involved an analysis of the Full-ordered Frames First (FOFF) technique used to b
ound mis-sequencing of packets in the Valiant Load Balancing (VLB) architecture
for switching in backbone networks. We also carried out a simulation of the VLB
scheme with FOFF included for bounding the number of mis-sequenced packets in Ja
va.

2. Implementation of BlueFS file system in VStore

Jan 2010 - Apr 2010
Involved replacing the existing back-end file system implementation in VStore, w
hich is a virtualization-based mechanism for sharing content across different mo
bile devices, with the BlueFS distributed file system and implementation of a sh
ared memory mechanism for inter-domain communication. C is being used for develo
pment.
3. Real-time monitoring of body sensors and alert system
Jan 2010 - Apr 2010
Involved developing a mobile phone application that monitors data received from
Bluetooth sensors that may be implanted inside the body of a patient and sending
an alert message to the nearest hospital following an emergency condition. The
Google Android system was used as the platform. Development was done in Java and
MySQL.
4. Virtual Distributed Storage using Moblin on Atom
Aug 09 - Dec 09
Involved developing a framework which uses Moblin (a Linux-based OS developed by
Intel and targeted towards the Intel Atom - x86 processor) and VStore which is
a virtualization-based mechanism for sharing content across different mobile dev
ices. C++ was used for development.
5. Distributed Concurrency control for real-time collaborative editing
Aug 09 - Dec 09
This project involved implementing the distributed concurrency control algorithm
s based on the WOOT approach for real-time collaborative editing applications as
well as its evaluation for view synchronization and capacity to handle editing
conflicts. The project was developed using Java.
6. Mini Projects
a. GTThreads: A user-level threads library in C similar to the POSIX Pthreads p
ackage.
b. Implementation and evaluation of RPC-based Proxy Server using C.

Mar 08 - Apr 08
The online information system is used for maintaining the specifications of auto
mobiles. It includes a database and processing mechanism for storing the details
of automobiles, customers and the finance availability. Client-side scripting d
one in JavaScript while PHP 4 and MySQL was used at the back end.
2. Shopping Enterprise Information System
Aug 07 - Sep 07
An information system required by shopping enterprises for storing and processin
g the data pertaining to their inventories, transactions and customer profiles.
Front end was developed in VB 6.0 while Oracle 9i was used at the back end.
