Books
Books can be read by Jack to learn new commands once he becomes a party leader. Books
can be found in dungeons, but the main place you will come across them is from book
retailers. You can find the vendors in Radiata Town, as well as in Goblin Haven (if you
choose the Non-Human path). Rather than listing the books here, we will discuss the effects
of their commands on the Combat Page.
Accessories
Jack can wear up to two accessories at any given time. They can give him a big edge in the
battles, so be sure to equip ones that will help you out.

Armor
Armor will change Jack's appearance, as well as give him a boost in battle. The main effect of
equipping better armor is to increase your defensive capabilities. However, they also change
your elemental status as well as have bonus side effects. If you are having trouble with an
enemy, think about what element it is attacking you with and adjust your armor accordingly.
For more on elements, read the Combat Page.
Weapons
There are four different types of weapons that Jack can equip. Each has their own set of
moves that must be learned in order to string together combo attacks. To learn new moves,
you must keep using a particular type of weapon. Which type of weapon you use is a matter
of taste. You'll be able to get through the game with any types of weapons, though you might
find it easier with a particular type. Each weapon will modify your Strength, is aligned with a
particular element, and has a certain number of CP. CP stands for Combo Points. Different
moves have different costs associated with them. If you want to use high cost moves in a
combo, you'll have to find a weapon that has a high CP. Additionally, each weapon can have
a bonus effect associated with it.
