Wintel/ESX Services Engineer
Co-engineer the VMware ESX infrastructure consisting of over 100 hosts and over
1000 Virtual Servers. Convert 40% of Safeway's physical infrastructure to virtua
l. Develop VDI solutions. Champion and implement Opsware/HPSA in the Widows and
ESX server environments.
Provided third level support and problem response, 24x7, for issues on Windows a
nd ESX-based servers. Manage servers and apply the appropriate fixes, patches, u
pdates, and hardware upgrades. Assure that all Sarbanes Oxley documentation was
completed and that proper change control procedures were followed.
Ensured successful backups of all critical data and systems. Participated in the
troubleshooting and escalation of problems involving network infrastructure fai
lure. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows NT/2000/2003/2008-2
008 R2 servers. Expanded Safeway's initial 2 ESX host environment to over 200 ES
X hosts in two datacenters.
