Manager of Financial Reporting and Analysis (2000 - 2006)
* Implemented, designed, and maintained a multi-dimensional database application
(Cognos e.Planning) to improve and automate budgeting, forecasting, and reporti
ng. The use of Cognos automated many processes, improved, reliability and the t
imeliness of completion of reports by 50%.
* Developed and maintained an Access database to capture, summarize and report a
ll freight activity by type, plant, and selling brand. This database was used
to automate the freight expense and accruals estimation. Reliability was vastly
improved, and time savings were 75%. This also enabled studies to be performed
to substantially save on freight costs
* Oversaw the Canadian division's financial department. Approximately 50% of my
time was spent in Brampton Ontario. The division had $18.5 million in sales.
* Documented, maintained, and tested internal procedures surrounding purchases a
nd payables, inventory, human resources, payroll, revenue, and receivables, ensu
ring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
* One of ten people selected worldwide in the UK holding company to develop and
present an e-commerce strategy. Created business cases showing benefits and cos
ts, as well as financial models to show the financial impact of ideas developed.

* Initiated meeting with senior staff, department heads and end-users to clarify
needs; then studied and evaluated all internal and external report tools. Sele

* Oversaw the month end close process. The close process was reduced from seven
days to four days.
* Served as key member in the consolidation of the Accounting Department from th
e plants to the Richardson, TX headquarters.

ming fiscal year.
* Functions as key contributor in the installation of new AS400 based manufactur
ing system. Responsible for the implementation of all the financial modules inc
luding general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory acco
