In this position my responsibilities included developing,
documenting and the review of product specifications and consumer
performance testing protocols for all Lowe's imports and OEM product
lines. Tasks also included sourcing and managing contract vendors and
test labs required for off shore production process auditing, product
inspection and evaluation, comparative testing, packaging
development, technical documentation and warranty service. In
addition I also provided management and technical leadership to in
house testing lab, contract testing laboratories and product
manufacturer's for the purpose of developing test and evaluation
methods with repeatable measurable techniques that would rate and or
assess consumer anticipation. I directed and outlined programs with
Merchandising and Loss Prevention to analyze product return data for
the purpose of reducing lost revenues, improving customer service and
increased profits. I was also a voting member of multiple UL Standards
Technical Panels, as well as ANSI, CPSC, NSF and CSA. I also provided
technical and retail market perspectives for the DOE's and EPA's
development of Energy Star guidelines and specifications for
household products and appliances.
