June 2008 - Present
* Senior level manager with dotted line reporting to the Vice President of Defen
se North America in support of the $2.5 billion development phase of the JSF F13
6 engine program, a joint venture between Rolls-Royce and General Electric
* Supply chain interface and single point of contact between the Customer Facing
Business Unit (CFBU) and purchasing Supply Chain Management Teams (SCMT) to ide
ntify, contract and monitor supplier delivery and quality in support of the deve
lopment phase and pre-production planning effort to ensure supplier production r
eadiness and capability.
* Global reporting accountability on monthly program Key Performance Indicators
(KPI) to global supply chain leaders in the US, UK and Germany. Since tenure on
the program KPI's have steadily improved with plans for closure of the remainin
g issues by Q4, 2010.
* Oversight and responsibilities included:
o Functional manager leading a team of twelve employees comprised of buyers, MRP
controllers, manufacturing engineers and value improvement engineers. Manageri
al responsibilities include hiring/firing, setting team objectives, prioritizing
team workload and end of year employee performance evaluations
o Creating project plans to ensure the introduction of 380 new part numbers into
the supply chain meets Rolls-Royce's quality requirements while delivering agai
nst the program's milestone plan for each engine to test
o Identify cost reduction opportunities, assess risks, analyze ROI, and make rec
ommendations to key stakeholders. Achieved documented program savings of $2.3 m
illion in development cost savings and $700 million (life of program) in unit en
gine cost savings (~$200k / engine)
o Interact with global purchasing counterparts for in-region supplier support to
ensure project plans are executed on schedule
o Represent purchasing at PILM toll gate reviews and monthly customer reviews wi
th the F136 Fighter Engine Team (FET) board of directors
o Identify, mitigate and monitor supply chain risks affecting the success of pro
gram milestones
o Plan and host supplier conferences for the Global Extended Enterprise Team (GE
ET) comprised of fifteen suppliers from five partnering nations
o $2 million signature authority
