UCC Happenings
Prayer Vigil for Life
The Austin Prayer Vigil is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, at St.
Jose Parish, 2435 Oak Crest. Mass will begin at 7am. Following
the Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be in the
church and a car caravan will travel to Austin Women’s Health
where the Mysteries of the Rosary will be prayed at the site from
8:20 – 9:50am. Benediction will follow at St. Jose at 10:30am.
Refreshments will be served at 10:40am. All are invited to
attend. Call the Office of Pro-Life Activities and Chaste Living

Micah 6 Food Pantry
Micah 6, our ecumenical food pantry, needs your help! Most of
the student volunteers are gone during the summer, so the staff
needs more volunteers than ever. Can you spare a few hours of
your Saturday morning to "do justice, love kindness, and walk
humbly with your God"? Simply slip on your closed-toe shoes
and go to the University Presbyterian Church on Guadalupe and
22nd Street at 9:30am on Saturday. Ring the bell at the fence at
the 22nd Street entrance. Thank you for your active work in
carrying out social justice!
Volunteers Needed
The UCC Hospitality group provides food and other assistance
for a variety of events throughout the school year. Volunteers
are always needed and welcome. If you would like to help,

If you are a member of the resident community here at the UCC
and would like to stay up to date on community events, you can

Be Someone’s Friend
Come join a group of volunteers who make people happy! On
Sunday mornings, we carpool to our sister community at the
Austin State Supported Living Center (a residential facility for
people who are mentally handicapped). For more information,

Doughnut Ministry
Do you attend the 9am Mass here on Sundays? If so, then you
know about our traditional doughnut and coffee ministry.
Currently, our volunteers for this ministry are looking for more
volunteers to assist them in buying the doughnuts and coffee and
in setting up and tearing down. Please contact Fr. Jamie at

Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston: Job Opening
The Texas Catholic Herald, a 72,000-circulation newspaper in
Houston, seeks a dynamic Managing Editor to lead the paper to
continued excellence. This position will be responsible for the
production of the Herald, from start to finish. A strong
background in reporting, writing, editing, design and digital
media is essential for this person, who will manage the day-to-
day operations of this bi-weekly publication. The Managing
Editor is accountable for providing effective author and story
development; designing vibrant, reader-friendly pages; writing
occasional stories for the Herald; and working as part of a team
to ensure top-notch editorial content for the official newspaper of
the Archdiocese of Galveston – Houston. If interested, please

Congratulations to Fr. Dat Tran, CSP
As you may be aware of from last week’s bulletin
announcement, Fr. Ed and Fr. Jamie were both absent last
Sunday due to the fact that they were in New York attending the
ordination of now Paulist Father Dat Tran, CSP. Some of you
may remember Dat while he was a seminarian at St. Austin’s and
also when he gave a couple of homilies and announcements at
the UCC. We all want to send a big congratulations to Dat as he
starts this new chapter in his life - he is definitely in our prayers!

Throughout the month of June, St. Austin’s Catholic Parish will
be offering an intro/inquiry series entitled Faith of Catholics.
This series will begin June 1 and run until June 29, occurring on
Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00pm in the Newman Hall. The

Third Annual Paulist Open Golf Weekend
Registration is now open for the Third Annual Paulist Open Golf
