Modeling Procedure
The flowsheet arrangement is shown in figure 1. The configuration consists of
a two phase separator and a heat exchanger with the heating stream on the
shell side. The inlet flow is specified by a calculation in a spreadsheet. In a real
process plant, the heating sources could be many things, for example: hot
process gas; furnace off gas; direct fuel burning etc. However, in this
presentation, a Gibbs reactor is used to provide a simplified heating medium.
This is because the Gibbs reactor can simulate the combustion reaction
between air and fuel quite easily; it calculates the flue gas composition and
reaction heat by minimizing the Gibbs free energy without any specified
reactions. In addition to this, to keep the model simple, the steam header
pressure control scheme is also excluded from the implementation. It is also
to be noted that the stability of the flue gas production system (heating media)
is not considered important in this presentation.

The flowsheet can be constructed as shown in figure 1. It is recommended to
set the Recycle and Feed stream nozzle efficiencies for the vapour phase to

PCC-Censeo Workflow
Source
Censeo sources data using PCC’s preconfigured data sources which can
include historians such as PHD and PI, XML Services and SQL (through the
use of SQL statements). Additionally Censeo is able to source data internally
from other approved displays. One of the key benefits is that data can be
combined from disparate sources.
Review and Value Add
Data is presented in Censeo displays such that it becomes information.
Displays are role-based so that only the right people are able to access
information that is relevant to them. Sourced data is retrieved into display
objects such as text fields and calculations are performed using Censeo’s
built-in calculation engine. Colour is used to indicate where data has been
sourced, what is calculated and which fields are configured as read-only.

Unless a display object is configured as read-only, users are able to modify
the values (override may be required) and colours are updated accordingly.
Along with the ability to add comments to most objects in a display, this allows
users to add value to the information.
Context menus are supported through-out Censeo to provide the user with
additional information and access to the display objects’ properties (such as
the calculations performed behind the scenes).
In addition, there is a full audit trail on all changes saved in which the user’s
ID is logged along with the date and time and what the value(s) have been
changed to. This history is available as a context menu item tied to each
display object.
Approve
The approval cycle in Censeo is a reflection of its core functionality. A strong
workflow is enforced binding security at multiple levels. Displays may be
configured such that the information is reviewed at up to ‘n’ levels of approval.
This also introduces the extra function of rejection, in which a user at level
2 or above is able to reject the display back down to the previous level.
Once a display is approved at the final level, it becomes locked and only the
user at that final level is able to unlock it again. Typically at this final level of
approval, data is then written back out so that it is made available to other
systems. As with the saving process, there is a full audit trail whenever a
user approves rejects or unlocks a display.
Publish
Data that has been approved at the final level becomes available for reports.
Reports can be created using an exported xml schema file generated from
the display so that an association can easily be made between report fields
and the fields within the display.
Levels and Security
Levels of approval in Censeo help mitigate human error and encourage
collaboration. All displays must contain at least one level (see the figure below)
but may contain up to ‘n’ levels. Typically levels reflect positions and workflow
within a business area. For example, the first level may be Operator, the
second Supervisor and the final level Manager. When a level is approved, the
display becomes available to the next level until it is approved and locked at
the final level. Displays may also be rejected back down to the previous level.

Censeo reports utilize the power of the Crystal Reports reporting Engine,
hence all reporting power is provided by Crystal Reports.
After designing a Censeo Display, Censeo can produce a schema file which

Within Crystal the Censeo Schema file gets used as report source, and all
design capabilities of Crystal is available to produce professional reports
based on Censeo Displays.

Designer
The power of Censeo lies in the ability to create and configure displays without
having to write code. This is done in the Design component of Censeo, usually
only available to Administrators. When a display is designed, the user is able
to select objects such as textboxes and labels and place them anywhere on
the display canvas. Once a display revision is ready, it needs to be committed
at which point it becomes available for use.

 Blending and Movement Automation Profit Suite

Did you know… the Blend Property Control (BPC) state shown on the blend
monitoring displays provides an indication of the current phase of BPC operation
in the blend?
Blend Property Control States:
BPC states track the progress of the blend and indicate the status of BPC
optimization and control to the operator.
START confirms to the operator that BPC activation has taken place. The START
state in BPC corresponds to the Master Clear state in Blend Ratio Control (BRC).
Microsoft Security Updates with Profit Suite Systems…
Customers are generally encouraged to keep their Profit® Suite systems, including
TPS and EPKS nodes, up to date with the monthly Honeywell approved Microsoft
security updates found on the Honeywell Online Support website.
However due to problems recently identified in the Microsoft Security updates
October 2010 iso image, it is temporarily recommended that users not upgrade
their Profit Suite nodes, including Server side and Client side installs (e.g. APP,
EAS, ESC, EST, etc), beyond the September 2010 iso image.

INIT appears when BPC is initializing. BPC reads and validates the blend recipe Figure 1
and configuration data from the LCN. The BPC cycle number indicated on reports Microsoft Security Updates Approved for Honeywell Systems

If BPC encounters an error during initialization, the BPC state changes to
INIT_ERR. In this case, BPC shuts off after 30 seconds and the operator must
correct the error before BPC can be restarted. Messages are sent to the Operator
Message Summary describing the error condition.
If the BPC state is OFF, no property control is taking place and the BPC monitor
program has been turned off. BPC can be turned on using an operator target at
any time during the blend.
During WT_STEDY, analyzers come on line and issue the first valid readings. All
analyzers complete their warm-up cycle and the dead time and transient periods
of the slowest analyzers expire.
WT_OFFST follows WT_STEDY. Raw offsets, estimated offsets, property averages
and calculated properties are now calculated periodically. This allows a
representation of the model offset to be determined before BPC proceeds to
ON_CTL. This problem is found specifically with the MS10-70 Microsoft KB2416473
security update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1. This update
ON_CTL appears when BPC is monitoring the blend and operator changes, and may cause Profit Suite URT and related applications to stop working.
