Graduated Summa cum Laude
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (1996)
Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
Graduated Magna cum Laude
SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS:
Developed new design strategy to institute a pre-contract demonstration of EO/IR
system capabilities under aggressive scheduling. Created and managed schedule,
provided engineering support to design gaps, and managed quick-turn procurement
of material. Project completed on-time, gaining company preferred status on pote
ntial $18M contract.
Served as sole Hardware Engineering support of Optical Inspection system. Provid
ed design improvements that resulted in more than 10% reduction of system COGs.
Implemented new features based on specific customer requirements that resulted i
n additional system sales.
Coordinated the efforts of the Engineering Team to successfully design, prototyp
e, test and deliver (2) high-end PCB rework systems on schedule. Result was over
$250k of additional revenue for the calendar year (approx. 6% of the yearly rev
enue for this product-line).
Took over a New Product Integration project that was over budget by more than 20
% and brought system COGs to within 5% of plan. Researched high-risk components
and initiated negotiations to reduce supplier quotes. Investigated, and discover
ed, contractual discrepancies that resulted in over $1M in savings over the prod
uct life.
Managed a department of 20+ Engineers with an annual budget in excess of 3.5 mil
lion dollars. Launched several market-leading projects, standardized existing pr
oducts, and cost-reduced an entire product-line by over 20%. Controlled departme
ntal spending so that all activities were successfully achieved while remaining
under budget.
