OVERVIEW
I offer a combination of experience in the areas of production planning, manufac
turing, fulfillment, and information management. I am a hands-on innovator who e
njoys developing & implementing new ideas and programs that make tasks easier an
d more efficient.

KEY SKILLS
* Significant experience with production planning in a manufacturing environment
including the areas of machine & operation scheduling, planning & forecasting,
as well as hand assembly & fulfillment work.
* Ability to apply analytical expertise to improve workflow efficiencies in a co
mpetitive business environment.
* Practical application of computer software design & development skills using d
atabase and object-oriented programming.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Pictorial Corporation (presently employed since 2005): Currently hold the posit
ion of Scheduling Manager at this full service design, print media, logistics an
d fulfillment company, located in the highly competitive New York City area.
Over the past four years, my contributions have extended well beyond my original
production scheduling duties to include:
* Improved efficiency in a custom-manufacturing environment while maximizing sch
edule flexibility and throughput, minimizing turnaround times, and maintaining o
n-time delivery.
* Designed, developed, and implemented new scheduling software. This software ha
s enabled highly accurate machine schedules requiring significantly less time to
update. The program publishes schedules to the company intranet site making up-
to-the-minute schedule information instantly available to all departments. I hav
e also recently enhanced the software to import real-time job data from the comp
any "job ticket", thus eliminating the need to re-enter this information.
* Designed and developed a database application to track daily production and ma
terial handling information for the company's finishing & fulfillment operations
. This program also analyzes production data to accurately predict productivity
on new projects.
* Designed and developed a master layout library application to professionally c
onstruct and store commonly used press layouts. This system allows production st
aff to search for, locate, and print layouts directly from their desktop, signif
icantly reducing the need to recreate them as well as significant time savings i
n preparing jobs for press.
Tribeca Print Services Inc. (2004-2005): Hired as a Production Consultant to th
is growing and dynamic printing company in lower Manhattan with 30 employees, sp
ecializing in composite cards and Broadway theater printing.
I was hired to manage the start-up of a major new account and to analyze the exi
sting commercial and composite card business for efficiencies and profit enhanci
ng opportunities.
* Established an improved workflow to accommodate the increased business.
* Designed, developed, and implemented a new order entry, job tracking, and invo
icing system using File Maker Pro, replacing an obsolete DOS-based system.
* Designed and built an inventory database to leverage manufacturing set-up cost
s by analyzing repeat business patterns in order to identify the re-order rate f
or each client.

World Color Inc. (1991-2003): As Production Planning Supervisor, I managed a fo

ur-person department and had responsibility over job planning for $250 million w
orth of business annually and the day-to-day scheduling of more than 40 cost cen
ters at two large web offset printing facilities. Key achievements:
* Improved operational efficiency through the design and implementation of softw
are that optimally scheduled over 30 bindery & finishing cost centers.
* Enhanced timeliness and quality of scheduling information available to sales a
nd customer service personnel by designing and implementing a reporting add-on t
o the company's production software.
* Upgraded organizational effectiveness by restructuring our planning activities
, hiring and coaching two new staff, and reassigning duties to provide for great
er flexibility in meeting the needs of other departments.
* Played a leadership role in streamlining manufacturing operations of two large
acquisitions by helping to integrate three highly divergent corporate cultures
into seamless 'one-stop shopping' for our customers.
* Effectively managed labor costs by forecasting equipment workloads in a change
able marketplace. Working within the strictures of a union shop, I was able to k
eep both downtime and overtime to a minimum.
