REILLY, Pierson Leroy (Roy) June 5, 1920 to April 18, 2011 We the family of Roy Reilly are saddened

to announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on April 18, 2011. A resident of Chartwell Select and formerly Robinson Drive, Roy was born, raised and educated in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He was the eldest son of Philip Gordon Reilly and Margaret Mae (Tilton) Reilly. In 1939 he enlisted in the RCAF and was stationed mainly on the East Coast. In 1944 on August 22nd Dad married our Mother Helen Krick. This past year they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary with family and friends, Roy was employed with the Oneida Silver Company , and Bell Canada in Niagara Falls, before transferring to Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) in 1957. Dad was very instrumental in the implementation of telephone services throughout North-western Ontario. He retired from the Bell in February 1980 after serving them for thirty-five years. Dad was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America, the Thunder Bay Amature Radio Club, and he was a founding member of The Thunder Bay Astronomical Society, at which time he and his friends built their own telescopes. Following his retirement, Dads main interests were his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling to the homes of his children and assisting them with many home renovations. In his declining years, he and mom decided to move to Chartwell Select where they made many new friends and enjoyed the activities and comradery. Dad is survived by his wife Helen and four children, Karen (Rae) Christiansen of Minnedosa, MB (here), John (Angie) Reilly, Winnipeg, MB (here), Lloyd (Margaret) Reilly Thunder Bay, Philip (Corrine) Reilly, Niagara Falls, (here); eleven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. His sister Shirley McLeish, St. Catharines, ON, and youngest brother Howard of Niagara Falls, ON as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his parents, his grandson Darynin infancy, his brothers Lloyd, and William, and brother-in-law James McLeish

At this time we would like to take the opportunity to thank the many excellent doctors and nurses especially Nurse Debbie and Dr. Murphy for their care and compassion not only extended to dad but to us as well. A private interment will take place. The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 23, 2011in the reception area of Sargent and Son Funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Friends are welcome to attend. As per Dads wishes in lieu of flowers donations in his name can be made to either the Cardiac Care Unit or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay.
