A. Medical Education: Curriculum Evaluation and Development. 1) My interest is in applying the scientific method to evaluate and improve the undergraduate curriculum. This is a focus of my medical education studies. I have evaluated the attitudes of year 1 students toward interprofessional health education (RIPLS instrument) before and after interdisciplinary sessions provided in the first 6 weeks of medical school. 2) I have developed curriculum for Year One Introduction to Medicine and the Human Development Thread, focusing on interdisciplinary education through interactive panel discussions. Past: A. Colorectal Cancer: i) Completed outcome analyses of patients treated for rectal cancer at the London Regional Cancer Centre. A prognostic index for Stage II-III rectal carcinoma was been devised to predict 4 year overall survival, based on the presence of adverse features. ii) I acted as a mentor for Dr. Ed Brecevic, PGY-3, as we completed an extensive database on patients treated with stage II-III rectal carcinoma at the London Regional Cancer Centre. Initial analyses led to presentations at the Annual Meetings of the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology, and the American Society for Clinical Oncology/GI Cancer Symposium. B. Central Nervous System Tumors: A comprehensive database of patients with lowgrade glioma was completed in 1995. Subsequent outcomes analyses by me and my Department of Oncology colleagues have led to 9 publications (3 first-authored) and numerous presentations at international meetings. I have since completed a meta-analysis of radiation therapy trials in this area. This was presented at the 2003 Meeting of the

American Society of Clinical Oncology and at the Global Temozolomide Researchers Meeting, Porto, Portugal 2004. Continued collaboration led to a first authored publication in 2007 reviewing the role of radiation dose and surgical resection in outcome in Low-Grade Gliomas. C. Gallbladder Cancer: I have acted as a mentor for William Tong, a year 4 UWO medical student, who has completed a substantial review of this rare gastrointestinal neoplasm. An abstract was presented at the 2007 ASCO GI Cancer Symposium. Our work validated the UICC Staging system for Gallbladder Carcinoma. William is presently a Radiation Oncology Resident at McGill University. He will complete a manuscript. RESEARCH FUNDING/CLINICAL TRIAL GRANTS
