Sun Engineer Working as a Field Engineer providing support for both hardware and software products of Sun Microsystems which includes entry-level and midrange Sun servers, Storage, Tape Libraries and Sun Solaris Operating Environment.

The role of my job involves setting up the server and associated hardware according to client requirements, configuring lights out management, installing, configuring and troubleshooting of Solaris OS issues. Configuration and troubleshooting of the Solaris OS includes user management, Patch and package installation, Volume management, System and user security, configuration,NFS,data redundancy techniques on hardware level such as raidctl as well as software level such as SVM. Server health checkup and monitoring using different tools available in the Solaris OS.
