ISLAMIC POINT OF VIEW In Islamic point of view regarding this matter, it is clearly taught in Islamic teaching conveyed through

the Quran and hadith from prophet Muhammad on how we are treating the creatures and in our case, how we are treating animals equally as they are also part of Allahs creation. The Qur'an strongly enjoins Muslims to treat animals with compassion and not to abuse them. The animals, together with all creatures, are believed to praise Allah, even if this praise is not expressed in human language. In Islam, it is believed that all creatures are inter related in terms of we are all a part of the whole family which serve upon our Creator. Therefore it is a sinful act to treat animals recklessly without the sense of compassion. As stated in holy Quran, all the creations are the same on how we are treating one another.

"There is not an animal on earth, nor a bird that flies on its wings, but they are communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.. (Qur'an 6:38).

In other words, animals are like communities in their own right and not in relation to human species or its values. These details have been mentioned to emphasize the point that even those species which are generally considered as insignificant or even dangerous deserve to be treated as communities; that their presence should be recognized, irrespective of their usefulness or their apparent harmfulness." Significantly, the following hadith shows us clearly and leave no ambiguity in the scene in which how we interpret the word communities.
Abu Huraira reported the Prophet(s) as telling of an incident that happened to another prophet in the past. This prophet was stung by an ant and, in anger, he ordered the whole of the ants' nest to be burned. At this, God reprimanded this prophet in these words: 'because one ant stung you, you have burned a whole community which glorified Me'. (Bukhari and Muslim).

Based on the hadith, we are made clear that Allah had showed us the importance of the presence of other creatures who are also serving Him and even generally the small creatures which we might feel insignificant, yet serve great purposes without we knowing it as Allah did not create a single thing without a purpose.

CRUELTY

In Islam, we stand clearly against the cruelty and condemn such sinful acts. In fact, we must show our compassion towards creatures and not to exploit or even abusing them.
For example, it has been narrated that a camel once approached the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) showing clear signs of distress and abuse. The Prophet rubbed its ears and calmed it down before inquiring about its owner. When the owner appeared, the Prophet admonished him saying, "Don't you fear God? This beast which God has let you own has complained to me that you starve and overwork it!" (Ahmad)

Cruelty to animals is unacceptable in Islam and taught us the beautiful teaching of Islam when we are dealing with other creations for us to follow for the sake of Allahs bless.
The Prophet Muhammad taught us that a woman who starved her cat to death would be punished on the Day of Judgment, "for neither did she feed it, nor did she leave it roam freely to find its own food" (Al-Bukhari). The Prophet Muhammad also taught us that God forgave all the sins of a prostitute who gave water to a dog on the verge of dying from thirst (Al-Bukhari).

It is forbidden to beat animals unnecessarily, to brand them on the face, or to allow them to fight each other for human entertainment. They must not be mutilated while they are alive. In Islamic teaching, causing unavoidable pain and suffering towards innocent creatures of Allah is not justifiable under certain circumstances. It is for us to think positively in accepting all species as communities like us in their own right and not to sit in judgement on them according to our human norms and values. Every single thing we did in our life will be counted and questioned later on the judgement day. Islam had provided us with clear path in line with Allahs order to be followed for our own good. In a hadith stated:
Muhammad is also reported (Narrated by Ibn Omar and Abdallah bin Al-As) to have said: "There is no man who kills [even] a sparrow or anything smaller, without its deserving it, but Allah will question him about it [on the judgment day]," and "Whoever is kind to the creatures of God is kind to himself."

In addition to that, the basic point to understand Islamic view in regards with treating animals as the creations of Allah is that the same moral, ethical and legal codes should apply to the treatment of animals as are being applied to

humans. According to Islam, all life is sacred and has a right of protection and preservation. The prevention of physical cruelty is insufficient as Islam covers every aspect in life, even mental cruelty is equally important towards animals. In the following incident, a bird's emotional distress has been treated as seriously as a physical injury:
We were on a journey with the Apostle of God(s), and he left us for a while. During his absence, we saw a bird called hummara with its two young and took the young ones. The mother bird was circling above us in the air, beating its wings in grief, when the Prophet came back and said: 'who has hurt the FEELINGS of this bird by taking its young? Return them to her'. (Narrated by Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah bin Mas'ud. Muslim. Also Awn (Ref. No. 32) Hadith No. 2658. Also "Guillaume' (Ref. No. 57); p. 106).

Islam is a syumul (perfect) religion that it covers all aspect of life. For this topic, we can see that even in slaughtering an animal for eating, we are hardly prohibited to do cruelty to animal. We cannot make them suffer for example use blunt knife, slaughtering using electricity, broke their body part, and inappropriately slaughter them or in other words, not kill the animal immediately. REWARDS The Islamic concern about cruelty to animals is so great as it reflects the value of equality practiced in Islamic teaching itself. Generally, not focussing on barely the cases of animal cruelty, every single good deeds and every single bad things done will be counted and never overlooked by Allah and will be rewarded accordingly to our actions.

The Prophet(s) was asked if acts of charity even to the animals were rewarded by God. He replied: 'yes, there is a reward for acts of charity to every beast alive.' (Narrated by Abu Huraira, Bukhari, 3:322. Also Muslim, Vol. 4; Hadith No. 2244. Also Awn (Ref. No. 32), 7:222, Hadith No. 2533. Also Mishkat al-masabih, Book 6; Chapter 6.

From the hadith, it is clearly shown that everything that we do, the good deeds even towards small creatures will be counted and rewarded by Allah accordingly. However, this simply reflects the other way around as Islamic law

and jurisdiction is comprehensive covering all aspects in life. Every bad deeds, violence and unnecessary pain we cause will surely be accused and punish by Allah accordingly to our actions. In another source, Prophet Muhammad keep reminding us of doing good deeds to the creatures as through his speeches and lot more of them which shows that the great concern of Islam when it comes to the ways of interactions and relationships with creatures like animals.
Mishkat Al-Masabih concluded from "Bukhari" and "Muslim" to the effect that: 'A good deed done to a beast is as good as doing good to a human being; while an act of cruelty to a beast is as bad as an act of cruelty to human beings' and that: 'Kindness to animals was promised by rewards in Life Hereafter.' (Mishkat al-Masabih; Book 6; Chapter 7, 8:178.)

The Prophet(s) told his companions of a servant who was blessed by Allah for saving the life of a dog by giving it water to drink and quenching its thirst. (Narrated by Abu Huraira. Muslim, Vol. 4, Hadith No. 2244. Also Bukhari, 3:322. Also Awn (Ref. No. 32); Hadith No. 2533, and others).
