GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES AND THREAT ANALYSIS (GOTA) REPORT FORMAT

GOTA (Global Opportunities and Threat Analysis) programe gives an opportunity to the students to get exposed to the global environment. It gives a platform to appreciate a Countrys economy and how a particular company runs its business within the given environment. Once the GOTA tour is completed, a student should prepare a report based on his/her learnings and observations. Students can choose any one organization from the organizations visited for preparing the report. They should submit the GOTA Report (one hard copy and one soft copy) within 15 days after the completion of the tour. The report should be within the range of 4000 to 7000 words. The GOTA Report is trifurcated as follows Part I The Preliminaries-

Part II - The Content or the text Part III - The References

Part I: The Preliminaries


(It should be in Roman Numerals) Title Page -- Institute logo, Name and Place; -- Students Details: (Name, Batch, Phone No, Email Id and Section)
-- GOTA Program Details: (Name of the Country visited, Name(s) of the Companies visited

and Duration with Starting & Ending Date.) Abstract: It should contain a brief about the country, the company on which the report is being prepared and the key learnings. It should not exceed 350 words. Acknowledgment (optional): It should generally include acknowledgment of assistance received
from various persons.

Table of Contents: List all the text pages with Arabic numerals

Part II: The Content or the Text


Introduction to the Organization: Name of the Company, Nature of Business, Vision Statement or Strategic Intent, Mission Statement, Product or Service portfolio, Management summary and Countries where operational.

Report of Data Collection and Analysis:

PEST Analysis (Political, Economic, Social and Technology) SWOT Analysis of the Company. Business Model of the Company. Financial Performance of the Company ( Profits and Growth rate) Competitive analysis. Key Success Factors and Competitive advantages or Core Competencies. Strategies Adopted (Present and Future).

Key Findings, Learnings & Recommendations: This section should include the key learnings in the Organization and how these learnings could be implemented in the Indian context.

Conclusion :

NOTE (1): If the organization chosen is an International Body (Ex., WHO, UNO, WTO etc), then the report should focus on the policies and the implications for India apart from other theoretical perspective. NOTE (2): Introduction to the Organization should not be more than 5-8 pages. However, there is no page limit for the findings and analysis part.

Part III: The References


Bibliography -- It should include all works which are referred to in the report.

Layout Requirements: Font 12, 1.5 Inch space, A-4 Size paper and Spiral binding
