POORVI
Water is the main source of life and no living organism can survive without it. Due to the rising population and unplanned industrialization water is getting polluted.
POORVI
POORVI
2. The biggest problem being faced by our nation and its economy today, is the absence of safe drinking water.
POORVI
The existing system of providing drinking water in urban / semi urban rural villages.
The existing system consists of
Drawing water from a tank or a bore well. Provision of filter beds for the removal of physical impurities. Chlorination to kill the bacteria. Pumping to the OHT. Supplying the water through pipe lines to the houses.
POORVI
Under the existing system: Our Government is spending nearly Rs. 15 - 20 lakhs in each village for such rural water schemes.
POORVI
Poor maintenance of the filter beds makes them become the breeding grounds for microbes. Thus instead of the water being purified, it gets infested with microbes and other impurities. Even the distribution pipelines, over a period of time get corroded and some times the leaking pipelines even facilitate external contamination.
POORVI
Out of the total water supplied, only a portion of it is used for consumption and the rest is used for various other purposes. The table given below depicts recommended basic water supply domestic need. SNo 1 2 3 4

THE NEED
We need to barely provide 4 5 liters of clean and safe water per day per head for drinking purpose only so that we can prevent the water borne diseases. We need to segregate the two types of waterone exclusively for drinking purposes and the other for the purposes of sanitation, washing, bathing and other domestic purposes which do not require treated water.

The pore size of R.O. Membrane is 0.001 micron and it removes all the bacteria and also the dissolved salts. The R.O. System is a perfect method for water purification but technically it needs well trained persons to operate the system. All the commercial organizations in mineral water business adopt R.O. Technology for water purification.

THE SOLUTION
POORVI
Install a simple Community Based Water Purification System with a capacity ranging from 500 liters to 1000 liters per hour. The cost of such system is Rs. 4 5 lakhs and the cost of processing of such purified water is hardly 8 paise to 10 paise per litre. This Plant can conveniently be installed in panchayat building/School near a tank or a bore well. Alternatively, the site/building can be donated by village elders in the memory of their beloved.

The plant can be operated by one trained operator and a helper employed from the local community. The purified water is filled in PET/HDPE Jars of 10 or 20 Lt capacity and supplied to the individual households at a very reasonable cost.

Once the village is identified and funding plan is decided the project can be implemented as under :
Activity Placing the order with machinery supplier Identification of the location near by a permanent raw water source with in the village and selection of the operator from the village Construction of building as per the plan and getting the pipe lines ready up to the building Training the selected person at Hyderabad for operating the machine Receipt of machinery at Hyderabad and preliminary trails at Hyderabad Transportation of machinery from Hyderabad to the village Erection of machinery Trial runs at village level Inauguration of the machinery and commercial production POORVI ENTERPRISES, HYDERABAD

The Mobile Water plant is more suitable where the number of families/beneficiaries are less, making a fixed community based water purification plant unviable. The Mobile water plant can cater to 5 villages every day working on a single shift basis. CWS designed a Mobile Water R.O Plant mounted on a TATA ACE 4 wheeler after making suitable modifications to its body. This plant is designed to produce 2000 Ltrs per Hour.
POORVI ENTERPRISES, HYDERABAD
POORVI
The vehicle/plant is operated by a driver-cum-trained operator. Each village should have two tanks one for raw water and the other for product water. The Mobile plant reaches the spot at a fixed time, gets it connected to the raw water tank and stores the treated water in product water tank. The purified water is distributed to the villagers by employing a part-time helper.
