This documentation is available in HTML format, and contains markup to facilitate access by the disabled community. Accessibility standards will continue to evolve over time, and Oracle is actively engaged with other market-leading technology vendors to address technical obstacles so that our documentation can be accessible to all of our customers. For more information, visit the Oracle Accessibility Program Web site at
http://www.oracle.com/accessibility/
Accessibility of Code Examples in Documentation JAWS, a Windows screen reader, may not always correctly read the code examples in this document. The conventions for writing code require that closing braces should appear on an otherwise empty line; however, JAWS may not always read a line of text that consists solely of a bracket or brace.

Terminology
In sections of this guide, the names for the UNIX platforms are abbreviated. The following table provides a list of abbreviations:
Platform AIX Based Systems hp-ux PA-RISC (64-bit) Linux x86 Solaris Operating Environment (SPARC 32-bit) Abbreviated Name AIX HP-UX (text), hp-ux (titles) Linux Solaris
Typographic Conventions
The following typographic conventions are used in this guide:
Convention monospace italics UPPERCASE <cr> Description Monospace type indicates UNIX commands, directory names, usernames, pathnames, and filenames. Italic type indicates a variable, including variable portions of filenames. It is also used for emphasis and for book titles. Uppercase letters indicate Structured Query Language (SQL) reserved words, initialization parameters, and environment variables. This string indicates a newline character.
Command Syntax
UNIX and Linux command syntax appears in monospace font and assumes the use of the Bourne shell. The "$" character at the beginning of UNIX or Linux command examples is the default command prompt. Do not enter it as part of the command.
Convention backslash \ Description A backslash indicates a command that is too long to fit on a single line. Enter the line as displayed (with a backslash) or enter it on a single line without a backslash: dd if=/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s6 of=/dev/rst0 bs=10b \ count=10000
Convention braces { } brackets [ ] ellipses ... Vertical ellipses . . . italics vertical line |
Description Braces indicate required items: .DEFINE {macro1} Brackets indicate optional items: cvtcrt termname [outfile] Horizontal ellipses indicate an arbitrary number of similar items: CHKVAL fieldname value1 value2 ... valueN Vertical ellipsis points in a code example mean that information not directly related to the example has been omitted.
Italic type indicates a variable. Substitute a value for the variable: library_name A vertical line indicates a choice within braces or brackets: SIZE filesize [K|M]

Running the setup.sh script to install the Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Utility Pack to your system and to update the operating system. Running the ocheck validation script to make sure you have the proper operating environment. Installing Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration.
Customer short code: a four-character code uniquely identifying the customer on the system. Environment type: Test, Development, Stage, or Production. Software component: Identified by the one-character code, i, for Oracle Applications 11i.
The name of your environment determines the database system identifier (SID), mount points, and user names and groups. Each environment type has its own set of port numbers. The name of the database SID, environment and the user names are defined as follows:
Database SID: A concatenation of the first letter of the environment type with the customer short code. It is also used for mount points and user names. Environment name: A combination of the database SID with the software component code. User names: The names are defined as follows:
The oracle user name is made by concatenating or with the database SID. The applications user name is made by concatenating ap with the database SID.
Table 11 provides examples of the environment names, database SID, and user names for the environments. In these examples, the sequence abcd represents the customer short code.

Installation of Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration
This chapter provides information for installing Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration. It contains the following topics:
Preparing the Stage Area Deploying Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration
Mount and install the DVD-ROM from a known stage area. Copy the DVD-ROM contents to a local file system, and start the installation from that directory.
In the preceding syntax, replace <platform> with the operating system used with the system on which you are installing, using the following syntax:
Table 31
Stage Paths for Copying DVD-ROMs to the Local File System To This Directory /stage/startCD/Disk1 /stage/oraApps/Diskn /stage/oraDB/Diskn /stage/oraAppDB/Diskn /stage/oraiAS/Diskn
Copy DVD-ROMs Labeled... Start Here CD - Disk 1 APPL_TOP - Disk n RDBMS - Disk n Databases - Disk n Tools - Disk n
The stage area is created on one server, and can be shared on another server by mounting the /stage file system to the other servers. It is recommended that you create the stage area only once. The following is an example of the command syntax used to create a stage path:
$ mkdir /stage/startCD $ cd /stage/startCD $ cp -r * /mountpoint
In the preceding syntax example, <mountpoint> is the mount point for the DVD-ROMs on your system.
Creating a Single-Node Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Creating a Two-Node Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Configuring an Oracle E-Business Suite Middle-Tier with a Virtual URL Adding a New Oracle E-Business Suite Middle-Tier
Log out of the system, and then log back in as the root user. Verify that you set the EBSO_HOME environment variable, such as EBSO_ HOME=/admin/ebso. Run the wizard.sh script, using the following commands:
# cd /admin/ebso/admin # ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=<tabcdi> tier=all
To install Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration with a vision database, specify "dbtype=vision" in the wizard.sh script. For example:
# ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=<tabcdi> tier=all dbtype=vision 4.
To check the status of the installation, review the log files in the $EBSO_HOME/log directory.
Log out of the system, and then log back in as the root user. Verify that you set the EBSO_HOME environment variable. To install the database tier on the database tier system, use the following commands:
# cd /admin/ebso/admin # ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=<tabcdi> tier=oracle mnode=<dbhost>,<cphost>,<admhost>,<webhost>,<frmhost>
For example, if the database tier host name is node1, and the middle-tier host name is node2, then the command would be:
# ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=tabcdi tier=oracle mnode=node1,node2,node2,node2,node2
To install Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration with a vision database, specify "dbtype=vision" in the wizard.sh script. For example:
# ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=tabcdi tier=oracle mnode=node1,node2,node2,node2,node2 dbtype=vision 4. 5.
To check the status of the installation, review the log files in the directory $EBSO_ HOME/log. To install the applications tier on the applications tier system, use the following commands:
# cd /admin/ebso/admin # ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=<tabcdi> tier=apps mnode=<dbhost>,<cphost>,<admhost>,<webhost>,<frmhost>
For example, if the database tier host name is node1, and the middle-tier host name is node2, then the command would be:
# ./wizard.sh mode=install dest_mntpt=tabcdi tier=apps mnode=node1,node2,node2,node2,node2
If the database-tier is configured with the "dbtype=vision" option, then you must specify this option while configuring the middle-tier.
6.
To check the status of the installation, review the log files in the $EBSO_HOME/log directory.
You can install Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration components across more than two nodes to create a multi-node setup. To perform such a setup, specify the appropriate host name in the wizard.sh script using the option for mnode.
As the apps user, run the passwd_mod.sh script located in the $APPL_ TOP/../BOL/scripts directory.
As the oracle user, run the passwd_mod_sys.sh script located in the $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/BOL/scripts directory. This script changes the sys and ssosdk passwords.
Log in as the apps user. Run the pre-cloning step for the instance.
$ cd /admin/ebso/admin $ ./pre_crenv.sh mntpt=<mount point>
where <mount point> is the top-level directory, typically six-letter (like tabcdi) in an On Demand environment.
3.
Log in as the apps user and reconfigure the instance to use the virtual server URL in the load balancer using the following command:
$ cd /admin/ebso/admin $ ./wizard.sh mode=preconfig src_mntpt=<source mount point> dest_mntpt=<dest mount point> tier=apps bigd=true,<URL>
where you specify the same value for src_mntpt and dest_mntpt, and an example of a valid URL is http://testebiz.abcd.com.
Note: You will be prompted to enter the apps password several times during the reconfiguration process.
4.
You have an existing installation of Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration If you plan to add a Web tier, you must configure the existing middle-tier to use the Virtual URL as described in the preceding section "Configuring an Oracle E-Business Suite Middle-Tier with a Virtual URL"
The following contains instructions on how to add a new middle-tier using shared APPL_TOP configuration:
1.
Run the pre-cloning step on the first (or one of the existing) middle-tier using the following commands:
a. b.
Log in as the apps user. Run the pre-cloning step for the instance.
$ cd /admin/ebso/admin $ ./pre_crenv.sh mntpt=<Mount Point>
2.
Create users, groups, and mount points on the new middle-tier node.
a.
On the new middle-tier node, ensure that you create application and oracle users that correspond to those on the source node. For example, use the following command to ass users and groups:
# groupadd -g aa<mntpt># useradd -d <home directory> -g <group> \ -p <password> -s <shell> ap<mntpt>
b. 3.
Copy the user profile (.profile) from the source middle-tier and put it in the <home directory>.
Copy the iAS ORACLE_HOME under the /<mount point>/product directory from the existing middle-tier to the new middle-tier. For example, you have a two-tier deployment with node 1 running a database and node 2 running a middle-tier, and you want to add a new middle-tier to node 3. Make sure the same /<mount_point>/applmgr directory on an existing middle-tier (node 2) is mounted read-write on the new middle-tier (node 3) to set up the new middle-tier in a shared APPL_TOP mode. Modify the sqlnet.ora file in the ORACLE_HOME database (database-tier) to include the host name of the new middle-tier node in the tcp.invited_nodes file and restart the Oracle Net listener. For example, if node3 is your new middle-tier and node2 is your source middle-tier node, and node1 is your database-tier node, then modify sqlnet.ora to add node3 as follows:
tcp.invited_nodes=(node1.<domain_name>,node2.<domai_name>,node3.<domain_name>) $ lsnrctl stop <listener name> $ lsnrctl start <listener name>
4.
5.
6.
Install Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Tool and Utilities under the /admin/ebso directory on a new middle-tier (node 3), if it does not exists. Use the following commands:
a. b. c.
Login as the root user on the new middle-tier (node 3). Mount the Oracle E-Business Suite stage area on to this system, under the /stage directory: Run the following commands to install Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Tools and Utilities:
# mkdir /admin/ebso # cd /stage/StartCD/Disk1/ebso/install #./setup.sh
7.
The new middle-tier could be configured to run one or more of the following:
Concurrent Processing Administration Web Forms Log in as the apps user on the new middle-tier node. Determine which services you want to configure on the new middle-tier, then use the following instructions to configure them:
a. b.
# cd /admin/ebso/admin # wizard.sh mode=preconfig src_mntpt=<Source Mount Point > dest_ mntpt=<Dest Mount Point> tier=apps bigd=true,<URL> src_host=<Source Host> shared_appl_top=true mnode=<dbhost>,<cphost>,<admhost>,<webhost>,<frmhost>
In the preceding command, specify the host name of the new middle-tier for the services that you want to configure on the new middle-tier. For example, if you want to configure all services (Concurrent Processing, Administration, Web, and Forms) on a new middle-tier (node 3), the preceding command would be:
wizard.sh mode=preconfig src_mntpt=<Source Mount Point > dest_mntpt=<Dest Mount Point> tier=apps bigd=true,<URL> src_host=<Source Host> shared_appl_ top=true mnode=node1,node3,node3,node3,node3
If you want to configure only Concurrent Processing, then the command will be:
wizard.sh mode=preconfig src_mntpt=<Source Mount Point > dest_mntpt=<Dest Mount Point> tier=apps bigd=true,<URL> src_host=<Source Host> shared_appl_ top=true mnode=node1,node3,node2,node2,node2
If you want to configure Concurrent Processing and Web, then the command will be:
wizard.sh mode=preconfig src_mntpt=<Source Mount Point > dest_mntpt=<Dest Mount Point> tier=apps bigd=true,<URL> src_host=<Source Host> shared_appl_ top=true mnode=node1,node3,node2,node3,node2 8.
Run the following commands on the newly configured middle-tier (node 3) to add the new middle-tier node into Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration:
$ cd $OAH_TOP/clone/bin $ perl adaddnode.pl
Note:
Due to a known bug (bug number 4274287), special characters are not allowed as part of the host name on all the nodes. For example, node1-cc1 is not allowed as autoconfig clips it to node1 resulting in issues while adding a new middle-tier node.

Administration of Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration
This chapter describes installation of existing Oracle Applications systems, and includes all the underlying scripts that are involved. It consists of the following topics:
Introduction to On Demand Utilities Using the Oracle E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Utility Pack Installation of an Environment from the Stage Location Configuring a New Environment
In the preceding syntax, text in brackets [ ] is optional, and text in braces { } is mandatory. Note the following syntax terminology:
bigd: BigIP details. By default, the value is false. If you specify true, then you need to provide the BigIP URL. The URL should include the protocol. For example, bigd=true, http://machine. mnode: Multinode. For multinode support, specify all hostnames. mode: Type of operation or task. porttype: Allows users to specify a different port range from the one associated with the destination mount point. Only the port range is affected. Directory structures remain unchanged. Typically the first letter of the value of porttype is used to determine the new port range. An exception is when the second to the last character in the value is a number. In this case, the number will replace the second digit of the new port range. For example, if porttype=igoldi, the first letter (i) will determine the new port range, as the second to last character (d) is not a number. In this example, the new port range is 106. On the other hand, if porttype=igold5i, the second to last character (5) will replace the second digit (0) of the new port range (106). Therefore the new port range is 156. A number in any other position of the porttype value has no effect. dbtype: This argument is only for mode=install. Specify the type of database to install. Valid values are bfa (Business Flow Accelerator), prod (production), and vision (Vision Demonstration).
Admin host: Administration-tier host Apps db hostname: Applications database host name Apps mount point: Applications mount point CM host: Concurrent Manager host DB host: Database host Forms host: Forms-tier host Destination mntpt: Destination mount point Source mntpt: Source mount point Source host: Source host Url: URL of tier Web host: Web-tier host
To prevent accidental termination because running the wizard.sh script might take a long time, Oracle recommends running the wizard.sh script in the background with the UNIX nohup command as follows:
$ nohup wizard.sh arguments &
from the stage directory. The installation process has four phases. Each phase is controlled by a separate script. The following list describes each phase:
Phase 1: Creation of partitions, mount points, and associated users. Phase 2: Creation of file copies from the stage area using an unzip utility. Phase 3: Configuration of the new environment to a new identity. Phase 4: Validation of the new environment to a new identity.
The wizard.sh script enables the following tasks for installation of the components:
