1. Name of course: DYNAMICS OF MACHINES Class: T. E. (Mechanical) Course objectives Students must have the knowledge of various mechanisms, power transmission devices, vibrations etc. Hence this subject is offered. Also to have the knowledge of Functions of governor,Types of governor - elementary knowledge of porter governor, watt governor, proell governor, Hartnell governor, spring controlled gravity governor, Belt and rope drives, open and crossed belt drives, action of belt on pulleys, velocity ratio, as wel as Functions of gear, Classification of gears, Gear nomenclature, and Types of vibration longitudinal, transverse and torsional vibration. Part-I

Contribution of course to meeting the professional component This course contributes primarily to the students' knowledge of engineering topics, and does provide design experience. This course is central to developing students ability to analyze, design and/or selects machine elements .

Assessment of student progress toward course objectives Two one-hour class test plus a three-hour final examination Weekly homework assignment are required and graded Arrange industry visits to augment explaining use of various machine components.
