Psalm 65:12
GODS WORDS
Each day we are bombarded with thousands of words. From the moment our clock radios click on in the morning, until the last moment of the day when the television is turned off or someone bids us good-night, our life is filled with words. Some words that we hear bring news that leaves us feeling low. Some words lift our spirits. Many of the words we hear are trying to get us to buy something. Some words are hurtful. Today the Church focuses our attention on hearing the word of God. Are Gods words just more of the samepart of the endless stream of words that flow into our ears each day? The challenge today is to allow Gods word to inspire us in new ways so that our outlook and attitudes align themselves more closely with the heart and mind of Christ Jesus. Copyright, J. S. As we begin our exploration of the upcoming new Missal changes, lets take a look at a few helpful analogies. For starters, consider a draft of the Declaration of Independence, which reveals a mysterious smudge of ink that has long baffled historians. Apparently, Thomas Jefferson changed his mind about a word and erased it while the ink was still wet. Scientists recently discovered that the word he erased was subjects, which he replaced with citizens. This one word re-defined the people of the American colonies. Words have the power to change lives and even alter the course of history. On a less dramatic note, think of the last time you tried to select a greeting card for a special occasion. No doubt, you pored over the words of numerous cards, looking for just the right words to express you sentiments. Words can have a profound impact for better or for worse on our significant relationships. In the same way, words play a very important part in our relationship with God. Catholics worship using both words and sacrament (sign, symbol, ritual). The words we use in worshipwhich will be affected by the new Missal changesare chosen carefully so as to best express our understanding of and relationship with God. Some of these words we Catholics use in worship date all the way back to the time of the Apostles. For example, the words of Jesus, at the Last Supper, have been part of our Eucharistic celebrations for 2000 years. Most of the other words that make up the prayers and texts of the Mass have been culled together over a period of as many years, including texts that are relatively new formulated in the 20th century. In all of this, one thing remains clear these words have power! They have the power to form us and to shape us as Catholics. These prayers tell us what we believe about God, about Jesus Christ and about our relationship with God. These words tell us what we believe about ourselves, about what God wants for us and from us, and about how we are to live in the world. The words with which we pray have the power to change us and to transform us.

FEAST OF FAITH
Invitation to the Eucharistic Prayer After the presider washes his hands, he turns to the people and says, Pray that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God the almighty Father. We have brought forward bread and wine, and now we are asked to see in these simple gifts upon the altar a sacrifice offered to God. Our response is rich in theological meaning. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands. The words point to the unique role of the priest, whose hands, at his ordination, were anointed for just this purpose: that he might sanctify the Christian people and offer sacrifice to God (Rite of Ordination). We ask God to accept our sacrifice not because it is worthy of God, but simply for the praise and glory of his name. God does not need our offering, but allows us to give it so that we might grow in holiness. And God, never to be outdone in generosity, gives all that we have given back to us, for our good and the good of all his Church. This Mass benefits not just those who have gathered, but, in the mysterious economy of grace, the whole Church. In the words of Saint Paul, when one part rejoices, the whole body share[s] its joy (1 Corinthians 12:26).

UCZTA SOWA
Sowo Boga obecne jest w wiecie od pocztku. To jemu zawdzicza on swoje istnienie czytamy w prologu Ewangelii wedug w. Jana. Byo ono goszone przez prorokw w czasach Starego Testamentu, a gdy nadesza penia czasu stao si ciaem w osobie Jezusa Chrystusa. Ilekro uczestniczymy w Eucharystii, mamy okazj sysze to Sowo. Jezus przemawia do nas w czytaniach liturgicznych, Jego nauka jest wyjaniana podczas homilii, a Jego zbawcze dzieo uobecnia si na otarzu w liturgii eucharystycznej. Sowo Boe przywoujemy take w naszej osobistej modlitwie. Bg natomiast pragnie, aby sowo przez Niego wypowiedziane rozwijao si w nas bez przeszkd, ukazujc ca swoj moc w naszym postpowaniu. Dopiero wtedy bdzie ono rzeczywicie ziarnem, ktre pada na ziemi yzn i przynosi obfity plon.
(ks. Mariusz Krawiec paulista, Czsopismo Opoka)
Ziarno posiane na ziemi yzn oznacza tego, kto sucha sowa i rozumie je. (Mt 13, 23)
