Instruction Manual for Setting Gauge of Triple Roving Guide (E3)

Please use:
1 setting gauge (A) with suitable spindle gauge (Fig. 1) 1 setting EliTube (B) with correct spindle gauge, for 6 or 8 spindles per box length, and with appropriate slot type (Fig. 1) 1 torx TX20 screwdriver, for example No. 10574610 E3 triple roving guide incl. torx fixing screw

Please proceed as follows:

1. Clip the roving guides onto the roving guide bar and push them roughly to their correct position. Set the roving guide traverse motion to 0. In case of 8 spindles per box length: Open the 4 top weighting arms between the 2 roller stands and let them engage in open position. In case of 6 spindles per box length: Open the 3 top weighting arms between the 2 roller stands and one additional adjacent top weighting arm, and let them all engage in open position. 4. 5. Take the EliTube out of the machine. Fit in its stead the setting EliTube. Take care that slot type and slot position are the same as in the original EliTube. (Fig. 1)

Place the setting gauge on the back bottom roller with the small fitting tongue on the setting EliTube at the front. Suspend the two 90 offset legs at the back bottom roller, so that the small fitting tongue at the front is located between the two pins of the setting EliTube. (A, Fig. 2) (In case of 6 spindles per box length, the setting gauge is placed with the recessed openings on the bottom roller bearings, reaching into the adjacent roller stand section over 2 spinning positions.)

Remove the setting gauge, as well as the setting EliTube, and reinstall the original EliTube. Repeat steps 3-8 at the remaining roller stand sections of the machine.

ADVICE
If the machine is equipped with roller stand sections with 4 spindles at the beginning or at the end, the roving guides must be set without the setting gauge, using a square and your sense of proportion.

Push the roving guides clipped on the roving guide bar to the 4 setting tongues on the gauge until they stop on the left and on the right of the tongues respectively. As a result, the correct spinning position of 8 roving guides is set at a time. Use the torx TX20 screwdriver to fasten the screw of each roving guide. (B, Fig. 3)
