The theme for this volume is INSPIRATION. Weve interviewed people around the world to share what Uspa means to them.

Its HERE! The Uspa Product Guide Book has been updated, and now includes all of the Uspa ranges. The full coloured books are the perfect tool for mapping out a program for ongoing care. Clients keep these books and bring them back to the spa or salon, carefully noting what has been indicated by their therapist. The books create a connection with the client, a reason to return, excitement for something new, and provide a wealth of information on every level. Not sure they are worth it? Welcome to our first newsletter. I hope you enjoy this access to the many voices that inspire Uspa. Using the theme of inspiration for our first newsletter, Id like to share with you my perspective on inspiration. Inspiration can come to us in many ways and forms. Inspiration can be as simple as an idea or a design, or as complex as a ritual. The underlying common thread among all these forms of inspiration is integrity. Integrity of the idea, integrity of the design and integrity of the ritual. If you can demonstrate that integrity, it will by its nature be inspirational. I try to put as much integrity into my life as I can. I look forward to the many contributors each month sharing this space.

UCOLOUR THERAPY AFFIRMATION RANGE lipstick that IS


Ucolour Therapy came to be as a way to touch up colour at the completion of a treatment. The lipsticks themselves provide nourishing ingredients, like Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, and plant waxes. The colours come from pure mineral pigments found in nature. Cinnamon Bark and Peppermint essential oils give a hint of uplifting aroma and a slight tingling effect when gliding on the lips. This synergy creates a long lasting colour that fits the profile for botanical and therapeutic. Founder George Jilly went to the director of the Holistic Therapies of Australia for the full realm of the potential of colour to affect the being on another level, and guidance on how to incorporate this powerful story into the lipstick range. The director of the institute spent months gathering volumes of information on the many influences of colour in all modalities of study, from the psychology of colour related to personality, chakras, and colour healing, as well as the Elements of Chinese Medicine (fire, earth, air, water, metal), male and female energies, the four seasons, and the twelve signs of the Zodiac relative to planets and their energy. She broke down the primary colours and their significance (clear sky with clear thinking for blue), uses, and combinations, such as combining blue with red to create violet. George selected the final seven colours after carefully researching to find those on a global level that remain top sellers year after year.

We were then given a profile of each Uspa lip colour - how it balances energetically on all of the levels researched. A Positive Affirmation based on the colour confirmations in relation to the chakras and healing vibrational frequencies connected with each lipstick, fulfilling the Colour Therapy aspect of each piece.

When women are told the story of how colour affects our well being and has been used historically for healing, they find themselves drawn to the affirmation. The colour often reinforces their personality, or strengthens an area they wish to improve. Of course, in the end, it has to be a colour the woman will enjoy wearing, but we have found when the intuition is engaged, they chose the colour that works best for them. Presenting the lipsticks in an environment for learning something new about oneself creates greater appreciation, as this item can become one of the fastest moving items in any economy. Marlies Stavert-Suyskens has been affiliated with Uspa since 2002 and has been in the beauty industry since 1988. Her company Blossom Products distributes Uspa in the Benelux: The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. She has been in the beauty industry for over thirty years, and brings a wealth of expertise to Uspa. Marlies is unique in that she is also an expert in identifying skin tones and assisting clients in maximizing the power of colour in makeup and clothing. We asked Marlies for her take on the Colour Therapy Lipsticks. Clients often comment on the lip colours having great staying power for a natural lipstick, being neither too moist or too dry. Since the pallet is seven colours, I encourage clients to mix shades to create an entirely new colour. The softer colours can double as cheek colour as well, by dabbing lightly on well moisturised skin. The Uspa brand has been greatly strengthened with the addition of Immersion, our flagship spa. Created to showcase retail and signature treatments, host training & the corporate office, Immersion is the foundation for the Uspa experience, our methodology and philosophy. The spa provides a platform for those keen to replicate the authenticity of Uspa as they are taken through the entire experience with our signature elements. Our goal is for spa goers to have the same Uspa experience in Langkawi and Dublin and Vail, and Immersion has facilitated this beautifully, offering a formula for success that can be duplicated.

Uspa invite all of our clients to visit us at our flagship location in Brighton, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne. We spent over a year creating the space to immerse our guests in the Uspa experience.

Uspa endeavored to incorporate local influences specific to the spas unique place & culture, effectively expanding the thought process to include the spa itself. Immersion is an amazing example of utilising local resources and up-cycling to create a one of a kind finished space. Many of the elements within the spa come from local resources, such as reclaimed wood floors from local piers, original bricks from the Victorian style building, local unique antique furnishings and repurposed pieces to create tables for displays. The eco-friendly elements extend into many other efforts that help offset our carbon footprint and we invite you explore more on our blog. When I was new to Olympia, WA, I began discovering and experimenting with things like aromatherapy, energy work, the energetic properties of stones, visualization, and the power of intention. As I stepped back into the beauty industry, these newfound allies became interwoven into my work as a hairdresser. I began offering clients a piece of rose quartz to hold onto during their treatment in order to help them feel more calm and relaxed. I also began each haircut with a scalp massage during which I encouraged them to set an intention for what theyd like to release through the haircut. Its been 7 years since the Beauty Temple was born and I now see clearly the effect that these intentional rituals have on both my clients and myself. Adding rituals into a clients experience creates a sense of stepping into a different space and time a break from our busy lives.

Incorporating an opportunity to set intentions can really bring the two of you more fully into the present moment. It can be as simple as inviting them to come up with a word of the day for themselves, having them pick an inspirational word card and reflect what it means to them, or even visualizing the water washing away what no longer serves them while getting their hair washed.
