General

1.

What are the benefits of using the online EPEC system?


The Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) system is an easy and convenient way to submit your applications. Applicants will also be able to check the status of their applications online.

2.

What is the processing time for an EPEC application submitted online?


Once you have submitted an EPEC application online, you will receive a reply within 2 working days. Applicants can check the status of their applications online by keying in their reference and passport number in the EPEC website. The website address is https://epec.mom.gov.sg/epec. Please provide a valid email address as status updates or requests for additional information will be sent via email.

Do I need to pay a processing fee for EPEC applications?


No, there is no processing fee for EPEC applications.

What is the difference between the "Selected Institutions List" and the "Qualifications List"?
The "Selected Institutions List" indicates the type of qualifications eligible for EPEC whereas the "Qualifications List" indicates the type of qualifications which may be considered for Employment Pass applications. However, please note that the processing criteria are more stringent for EPEC as it allows the successful applicant to come to Singapore without a job and source for employment.

What is a skilled migrant visa?


A skilled migrant visa is a visa issued by a country's government to allow skilled professionals of foreign nationalities to work and live in the country.

What are some examples of the skilled migrant visas accepted by MOM for an EPEC application?
MOM will accept skilled migrant visas, such as the US' H1-B, O-1, EB-1a, EB-1b and EB2, UK's Tier 1and Highly Skilled Migrant Progamme (HSMP), Ireland's Green Card Permit, Hong Kong's Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS), Australia's SkilledIndependent (Migrant) Visa-subclass 175, Skilled-Sponsored (Migrant) Visa-subclass 176, Temporary Business Entry (Long Stay) Visa-subclass 457 and Skilled-Recognised Graduate Visa-subclass 476.

How do I collect my EPEC?


The EPEC will be sent to the mailing address indicated in your online application form. Please ensure that you have provided us with the complete and correct mailing address. It will take between 3 - 4 weeks for the EPEC to be delivered to an overseas mailing address.

Can I submit multiple EPEC applications online?


No, you cannot submit multiple applications online. Only the first application submitted will be accepted by the system.

9.

Can I apply for an EPEC first before applying for my passport?


You should have a passport before applying for the EPEC as you will be asked to provide your passport number when applying

for an EPEC. We will not be able to process your EPEC application if the information provided is incomplete.

10. I have submitted the EPEC application online but I realised I have typed my name wrongly. What should I do?
To avoid unnecessary delay, please check through all your particulars and ensure that the information provided is correct before you submit your application online. If you have typed in your name wrongly in your EPEC application, you will have to withdraw the application and submit a new application. You can withdraw the application only if it has not been approved or rejected. To withdraw the application, please go to https://epec.mom.gov.sg/epec, and log in by keying in your reference and passport number. After you have logged in, click on the "Withdraw" button to withdraw the application. If your application has already been approved, you can email us at mom_wpd_epec@mom.gov.sg with your withdrawal request. Please provide us with your name, date of birth, passport and reference number of your EPEC application. The EPEC application will be cancelled in the system so that you can resubmit a new application.

11.

I have submitted the EPEC application online but I decided that I no longer wish to get an EPEC. What should I do?
If your application has not been approved or rejected, you will have to withdraw your application. To withdraw the application, please go to https://epec.mom.gov.sg/epec, and log in by keying in your reference and passport number. After you have logged in, click on the "Withdraw" button to withdraw the application. If your application has been approved, you can email mom_wpd_epec@mom.gov.sg to inform us that you no longer wish to get an EPEC. Please provide us with your name, date of birth, passport and reference number of your EPEC application. We will cancel your application in the system.

12.

I have submitted my EPEC application online but realized I have typed my mailing address wrongly. What should I do if I want to change my mailing address?
If you want to change your mailing address, you can email your request to us at mom_wpd_epec@mom.gov.sg. Please also provide us with your EPEC reference no in your email.

13.

Do I need to submit any additional documents to support the EPEC application? How do I submit these documents?
If we need more information to assess your EPEC application, we will send you an email to the address you have provided in your application. You may retrieve your EPEC application at https://epec.mom.gov.sg/epec and enter the reference and passport number to upload the following documents:

You have to submit the requested documents within 7 days from the date you receive the email. Late or no action on your part will result in your EPEC application being rejected.

14. I am unable to upload the supporting documents. Why?


The system can only accept standard file size and format for the supporting documents. You will not be able to upload the documents unless they meet our requirements below:

15.

Why does the system hang for a long time after I have attached the documents and clicked the "Upload" button?
Depending on the performance of your computer and the speed of your network connection, it may take up to several minutes before the files are uploaded to our server.

16. I have submitted the wrong supporting documents. What should I do?
During the submission of documents, if you have not clicked on the "Confirm" button at the confirmation page, you can click on the "Back" button to re-upload the correct supporting documents. However, if you have already clicked on the "Confirm" button, you can email to mom_wpd_epec@mom.gov.sg and provide us with your name, date of birth and the reference number of your EPEC application. We will send an email to request you to either resubmit the correct document or to withdraw the application if we have not made a decision. If your EPEC application is rejected, you will need to resubmit a new application.

17.

If I want to re-load a supporting document, after I click on the "Back" button at the confirmation page, do I need to re-upload the other supporting documents that I do not wish to change?
During the submission of documents, if you click on the "Back" button at the confirmation page, you will be able to see the list of documents that you had previously uploaded. For those documents that you wish to re-upload, click on the "Browse" button next to the documents, and select the correct documents. For those documents that you do not wish to re-upload, you do not need to do anything. After you have finished selecting the correct documents, click on the "Upload" button to go back to the confirmation page.

Approved Applications

18. My EPEC application has been approved. When will I receive it?
The delivery time depends on your postal service provider. For local mailing address, you should be able to receive your EPEC within 1 week after approval. For overseas mailing address, it will generally take between 3 - 4 weeks for the EPEC to be delivered.

Rejected Applications

19. My EPEC application was rejected. Can I appeal or put in a new application?
The processing criteria for an EPEC is premised on the applicant's educational qualifications or possession of selected skilled migrant visas. You may want to submit a new application or appeal if you have attained higher educational qualifications or if you have been granted a skilled migrant visa. However, please note that the EPEC online system automatically prevents any rejected applicant from submitting applications again for a period of 90 days. Even though your application for an EPEC is unsuccessful, you can still apply for an Employment Pass through a potential employer. You may wish to make use of the Employment/S Pass Self-Assessment Tool (EP/S SAT) to obtain a preliminary indication on whether you are likely to qualify for an Employment or S Pass, based on details such as salary, educational qualifications, occupation and work experience. You may visit the Contact Singapore website for a list of executive search firms in Singapore and approach them directly for assistance.

20. How will I be notified of the status of EPEC application?


You will receive an email informing you of the application status at the email address provided during application. Alternatively, you can visit this website https://epec.mom.gov.sg/epec to check the status of your application by keying in your reference and passport number.

21. How do I check the status of the EPEC application online?

22.

I want to check the status of the EPEC application online but I have lost my reference number. What should I do?
You can email us at mom_wpd_epec@mom.gov.sg and provide us with your name, date of birth and passport number. We will email you your reference number and you will then be able to check your status online.

Yes, you can submit EPEC applications online using Windows Vista.
