TCH Available Average

Huawei Traffic Statis. Item : Available TCHs [ 2166] Description: This item indicates the number of available (idle or busy) TCHs in a certain cell on real-time basis. It excludes the TCH dynamically adjusted to SDCCH, and includes the TCH adjusted from dynamic PDCH. It is an average number of available TCHs got at all sampling points within the statistic cycle. Measurement point: System gets the number of available TCHs every five

Huawei Traffic Statis. Item : TCH traffic volume (excluding very early assignment) (ERL) [20307] Description: This item indicates the ratio of duration of MS seizing TCH to statistic cycle. The duration of MS seizing TCH is calculated by multiplying the number of MR reported by MS via TCH with the report period (0.48 seconds).

(TCH seizure failures for call [2126] - TCH seizure failures for call (no radio resource [2120] +SDCCH call drop [2070])/ Successful immediate assignments [2186] TCH seizure failures for call [2126]: Description: BSS might fail to implement the assignment procedure due to some reason after receiving ASSIGNMENT REQUEST message from MSC. Measurement point: if BSS fails to respond to ASSIGNMENT COMPLETE message to MSC due to some reason after receiving ASSIGNMENT REQUEST message, this item is measured and BSS responds ASSIGNMENT FAILURE message to MSC simultaneously. Figure 15 (in Part A) Assignment implementation process indicates the measurement point. Successful immediate assignments [2186]: Description: In the immediate assignment procedure, after successfully seizing a channel (SDCCH or TCH) allocated by BSC for transferring signaling, MS reports a SABM frame on this channel to BTS, indicating the establishment of a radio link layer connection in the multi-frame mode. BTS returns a UA frame to MS, and sends an ESTABLISH INDICATION message to BSC, notifying it to establish a normal Um interface connection. Measurement point: This item is measured when BSC receives an ESTABLISH INDICATION message from BTS in the immediate assignment procedure.

Full Rate Traffic

Huawei Traffic Statis. Item : TCHF traffic volume (excluding very early assignment) [23302] Description: This item provides the traffic volume on Full rate TCHs (excluding those seized in very early assignment procedure), i.e. the ratio of the duration of MS seizing Full rate TCH to measurement period. The duration of MS seizing Full rate TCH is obtained by multiplying the number of MRs reported by MS on Full rate TCH with 0.48 seconds (period for reporting MRs).

Item : TCHH traffic volume (excluding very early assignment) [23303] Description: This item provides the traffic volume on Half rate TCHs (excluding those seized in very early assignment procedure), i.e. the ratio of the duration of MS seizing Half rate TCH to measurement period. The duration of MS seizing Half rate TCH is obtained by multiplying the number of MRs reported by MS on Half rate TCH with 0.48 seconds (period for reporting MRs). 18 SDCCH Available Average

Huawei Traffic Statis. Item : Available SDCCHs [2075]: Description: This item indicates the number of available (idle or busy) SDCCHs in a certain cell on real-time basis. It includes the SDCCH dynamically adjusted from TCH. It is an average number of available SDCCHs at various sampling points within the measurement cycle. Measurement point: System checks the number of available SDCCHs every five seconds. The accumulated value from the data got at the sampling points is divided with the times of sampling to get the average number of available SDCCHs within the measurement cycle.

19 SDCCH Holding Time(s)

Huawei Traffic Statis. Item : Average SDCCH busy time (second) [2076] Description: This item indicates the average duration of the SDCCHs configured for a cell being busy. It shows the situation of random access frequency in the objective cell from the angle of channel seizure duration. Measurement point: Average duration of SDCCHs busy in a cell.

TCH seizure failures for very early assignment [2127]: Description: this item is measured when TCH allocation failure, TCH activation failure, or TCH activation NACK occurs in BSC in very early TCH assignment procedure. Measurement point: 1) This item is measured if there is no available TCH when the MS requests channel from BSC in very early TCH assignment procedure. 2) In very early TCH assignment procedure, after BSC allocates a TCH, it sends a CHANNEL ACTIVATION message to the BTS to activate this channel. If BTS returns the CHANNEL ACTIVATION NEGATIVE ACKNOWLEDGE message. Then this item is measured when BSC receives this message. 3) In very early TCH assignment procedure, after BSC allocates a TCH, sends a CHANNEL ACTIVATION message to the BTS to activate this channel. At the same time, BSC starts the timer (internal timer, 5 seconds). Then this item is measured if the response from the BTS has not been received when the timer expires. TCH seizure failures for intraBSC incoming cell handover (no radio resource) [2131]: Description: in intra BSC incoming cell handover procedure, this item is measured if the target cell has no available TCH when allocating TCH upon reception of the Intercell Handover Request message requesting TCH from other cell in the same BSC. Measurement point: in intra BSC incoming cell handover, this item is measured if it is TCH that is requested and the handover fails due to no available TCH.

TCH seizure failures for interBSC incoming cell handover(no radio resource) [2132]: Description: this item measures the handover failure in inter-BSC handover due to no available radio channel or timer for queue expires in target cell in the target BSC. Measurement point: In incoming BSC handover procedure occurs when the MS is seizing TCH, if there is no available TCH after the target cell receives the HANDOVER REQUEST message and queue isnt supported, this item is measured. If there is no available TCH but both BSC and this handover support the queue, then the system starts the timer to wait for TCH release. This item is measured if there is still no TCH available when the timer expires. Attempted TCH seizures for very early assignment [2091]: Description: This statistic item measures the number of times BSC receives CHANNEL REQUEST messages from MS requesting to seize TCH, either TCH allocation or reallocation is included. For related information, please refer to Error: Reference source not found. Measurement point: In the very early assignment procedure, this item is measured when BSC receives CHANNEL REQUIRED message from BTS and the requested channel type is TCH. Attempted TCH seizures for intraBSC incoming cell handover [2096]: Description: In the intra-BSC handover procedure, this statistic item measures the number of times the target cell receives Intercell Handover Request messages from the originating cell, requesting allocation of TCH. Measurement point: In the intra-BSC handover procedure, the originating cell sends an Intercell Handover Request message to the target cell, requesting allocation of TCH. This item is measured when the target cell receives this message. It is not measured on intra-cell handover occasions. Attempted TCH seizures for interBSC incoming cell handover [2097]: Description: In the inter-BSC handover procedure, this statistic item measures the number of times the cell in Huawei BSC receives HANDOVER REQUEST messages from other BSC (transferred via MSC), requesting allocation of TCH. Measurement point: This item is measured when BSC receives an incoming BSC handover request (HANDOVER REQUEST), requesting allocation of TCH.
