This
is
not
a

but
hopefully
it
will
answer
many
of
the
questions
out

Please
before
asking
a
question,
do
a
little
research
yourself.
I

Anything

I
have

by
searching.
I
hope
this
helps.
M2TS The .m2ts is a filename extension used for the BDAV MPEG-2 Transport Stream container file format. It is used for multiplexing audio, video and other streams. It is based on the MPEG-2 transport stream container. This container format is commonly used for high definition video on Blu-ray Disc and AVCHD. MKV The Matroska Multimedia Container is an open standard free container format, a file format that can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture or subtitle tracks inside a single file.[1] It is intended to serve as a universal format for storing common multimedia content, like movies or TV shows. Matroska is similar in concept to other containers like AVI, MP4 or ASF, but is entirely open in specification, with implementations consisting mostly of open source software. H.264 H.264/MPEG-4 Part 10 or AVC (Advanced Video Coding) is a standard for video compression, and is currently one of the most commonly used formats for the recording, compression, and distribution of high definition video. The final drafting work on the first version of the standard was completed in May 2003. AC3 Dolby Digital is the name for audio compression technologies developed by Dolby Laboratories. It was originally called Dolby Stereo Digital until 1994. The first use of Dolby Digital was to provide digital sound in cinemas from 35mm film prints. It is now also used for other applications such as TV broadcast, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, games consoles etc. DTS DTS is a series of multichannel audio technologies owned by DTS, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTSI, formerly known as Digital Theater Systems, Inc.), a company specializing in digital surround sound formats used for both commercial/theatrical and consumer grade applications. It was known as The Digital Experience until 1995.

Part 3 layouts:
Side-by-side This refers to a video file where you have two almost identical images displayed next to each other. It can be done as half or full. Half means that the two images are 960x1080 and when put together create a 1920x1080 image. Full means that the two images are each 1920x1080 and when put side by side are 3840x1080. Most files are encoded as half for two reasons. One, to help minimize file size and two, most players dont support the full resolution. Over/Under This is essentially the same as side-by-side except that the images are above and below each other. This can also come in either half or full and its the same situation. Side-by-side is preferred to over under because side-by-side maintains the 1080 vertical lines or resolution.
