1. INTRODUCTION
Good health is the most important thing in the life of every human being. To be healthy, energetic and Quality food containing carbohydrate, protein and vitamins should be taken. As student work hard like a machine, they get tired very soon. So, every one of us should take energetic and quality food in the day. It gives energy to work more with enthusiasm. Quality food gives energy to all human beings which is very helpful for a good health. Student satisfaction is the ultimate aim of any mess and hotels concern. Merely providing cheap food should not alone be the objective of the business. More than that, they must concentrate on how to satisfy the student regarding all aspects of the food such as price, quality, hygienic food etc. No sales can be effective without knowing the desires and needs of consumers there must collect as much information as possible from the consumers relating to their tastes and preferences towards different food.Then only they can provide and make food up to the expectation of the consumers'. Consumers always prefer to buy good quality products. Good product is the key to market success. It also should be emphasized that the students are showing a strong interest in new and good quality of food products. For the present study, among various types of food products available in pune and pimpri.

1. SCOPE OF THE STUDY


The present study is confined to Pimpri & Chichwad area and the following familiar hotels & Mess have been selected. It is an empirical study which is primarily concerned with satisfaction of Quality food product & Chep food Product. This study also extends to analyse the food preference by student and the problems faced by students about food product .

2. OBJECTIVES OF STUDY
The specific objectives of the study are as Follows To analyse the food preference of student towards food products. To study the student satisfaction towards mess food products. To analyse the problems faced by the hostellite in food product by student.

3. HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY


There is no significant relationship between socio-economic characteristics of food consumers and their food preference. There is no significant relationship between socioeconomic characteristics of food consumers and their level of satisfaction towards food products.

4. METHODOLOGY
The present study intends to examine the issues framed in the objectives and hypotheses relating to the student satisfaction of food product. The study is an empirical research based on survey method and the data collected for the study includes only primary data. The Primary data have been collected through the survey method, by direct personal interview with the sample respondents.

5. AREA AND PERIOD OF THE STUDY


The area of the study is confined to Pimpri-Chichwad city MBA Colleges. Hostelites Students.The study was conducted during February-March 2011.

6. SAMPLING DESIGN & FIELD WORK


The Present study is related to Students preferrance on Qualit & Cheap food products in Mess & Hotel, in Pimpri-Chichwad city. In order to constitute a sample size of 50 respondents all off them are MBA-I year students were purposively selected. Convenience sampling technique was employed to collect required information from the respondents.

10. STATISTICAL TOOLS APPLIED


The primary data collected through Quationery schedule from 50 respondents were presented in a master table and required subtables were prepared. The statistical tools such as percentage analysis,graphs were used which are appropriate to this study.

16. SUGGESTIONS
In this study, it is found that majority of the students like to consume hotel food. Hence, it is suggested that the Mess Provider may concentrate in improving the features of their such as Vitamin content, taste,hygienic,quality etc. in order to attract more number of students. It is found that majority of the sample respondents are suffering from the problem of higher price & Quality of food provided. Hence, it is suggested that the mess provider may try to reduce the price of the food products by reducing cost of making food products. It is found that majority of the sample respondents' ranked quality as the first factor which influenced them to purchase their food product. Student associate a food product with 'good quality'. Hence, it is suggested to the mess & hotel that to successfully promote a food product and to retain student loyalty, they must ensure that quality of the food product is maintained at a high level. It is found that there is a significant relationship between Quality food and satisfaction level. Hence, it is suggested to mess provider may try to cater the needs of different student by providing their choice of food product according to their expectations. It is found that majority of the sample respondents are getting their information regarding the food products through references of friends. Hence, it is suggested to the manufacturers that they may try to give more Quality food at reasonable price.

Quality food product is ever growing and ever wanted. All Students want good and Quality, hygienic instead of cheap food and ultimately they are depending upon some energetic quality food products in addition to taking normal cheap food items. Based on the findings of this study, various suggestions are given. If these suggestions are properly considered by the mess provider to hostelites a fruitful results may be achieved.
