Lets talk tech

Beyond their compliance with industry standards, the newest Gigaset WiMAX products feature state-of-the-art technology to provide flexible last mile solutions, such as a wide range of connectivity options, intelligent signal transmission and powerful remote device management.

Connectivity
In-house connectivity doesnt stop with Ethernet ports. Select Gigaset gatways and modems can include one or more FXS ports, a USB host, integrated WLAN, as well as SIP and PBX functionalities. In addition, the Gigaset portfolio of routers, DECT and IP phones can complement the WiMAX devices to form convergent in-house networking solutions. All Gigaset WiMAX CPEs support IP as well as Ethernet based networking to offer optimal flexibility. This is, for example, a big advantage wherever WiMAX outdoor modems are configured as an Ethernet Bridge to connect several business customers located in one building. And with a throughput of up to 20 Mbps on all Gigaset WiMAX devices, subscribers will benefit from high-speed Internet access.

Advanced Antenna Technologies

For optimal capacity and coverage, all Gigaset WiMAX devices support MIMO as well as beamforming. While MIMO Matrix A (Space-Time-Coding) improves coverage, MIMO Matrix B (Spatial Multiplexing) effectively doubles the data throughput. For further coverage extension, adaptive beamforming also called Adaptive Antenna Systems (AAS) is supported to boost the signal strength between the base station and the WiMAX devices. All Gigaset WiMAX CPEs have outstanding RF performance. Two high-gain antennas in combination with high transmission power and excellent receiver sensitivity allow for an increase in cell sizes, thereby saving deployment costs. In very demanding environments, the CPEs can connect to an external outdoor antenna.

Remote Device Management

Remote device management is key to successful WiMAX deployments. Gigaset Communications approach eliminates costly truck-rolls or prolonged technical support for the service provider. And through secure provisioning, authentication, configuration and general management, Gigaset WiMAX devices ensure a positive user experience for the subscriber. With the field-proven Gigaset Software Suite, Gigaset Communications offers a powerful set of remote device management tools based on TR-069. On top of the standard functions, this solution offers features like remote diagnostics of physical link parameters or management of voice PBX, and can be tailored to individual service providers needs. Of course, all Gigaset WiMAX devices support both the TR-069 and the OMA-DM protocols specified by the WiMAX Forum and will support SNMP.
