Person 1: Turns flashcard over and says the answer as soon as it is known. Person 2: Types the problem into the calculator.

If Person 1 is CORRECT and BEATS the calculator, you may record the fact in the FACTS I KNOW column on the recording sheet.

If Person 1 is INCORRECT and DOESNT beat the calculator, you must record the fact in the FACTS I NEED TO WORK ON column on the recording sheet.

After 5 minutes, Person 1 becomes the calculator and Person 2 becomes the one trying to beat the calculator.

Materials 1 set of cards (no face cards, tens, and jokers) OR number cards (1-9 only) 1 recording sheet per student Groups of 2 students How to Play 1. Each player begins with 9 cards. 2. Lay the cards face up in a 3 X 3 array. X X X X X X X X X 3. Player one takes out 2 cards from the array at a time that total 10 until there are no more pairs that total 10. 4. Every Player records each fact on their recording sheets. 5. Player one replaces missing cards with more cards from the deck. 6. Player Two makes pairs totaling 10. 7. Continue until there are no more cards in the deck.

1. Press the red Problem Solving button under the on/off button. 2. Press Mode under the arrow down button. 3. Press the Arrow Down button two times. 4. Press the Right Arrow two times until the addition sign is underlined. 5. Press Enter at the bottom right. 6. Press Mode. 7. Record the Problems that you missed on your sheet.

How to Play
1. A player shuffles the deck and places five cards face-up on the playing surface. This player leaves the rest of the deck facedown and then turns over and lays down the top card from the deck. The number on this card is the number to be named. ( 9 is the number to be named) 2. Player 1 chooses the cards 6 and 3 that name 9 (from example below) and records the equation 6+3 = 9 on the recording sheet. (An advanced game might name 9 as (10 3) + 2). Player 1 takes the cards used to name the number and the name card (9).)

3. Player 2 replaces the cards from the left and the naming card from the cards in the deck. Then Player 2 chooses cards to make an equation using the new naming card and records it on the recording sheet. 4. If a player cant name a number using any of the cards, turn over a new card from the deck and it becomes the new number to be named. 5. Play continues until all the cards have been turned over from the deck. The winner is the player with the most cards.

Penny Cup Game


Materials
20 Pennies (or color tiles) cup or can

How to Play
1. Player 1 turns the container upside down, hides some of the twenty pennies under the cup, and puts the rest on top of (or beside) the cup. 2. Player 2 figures out how many are hidden under the cup. Player 2 records his solution on the recording sheet. 3. Partners trade roles.

** Players can change the total amount of pennies used to make it easier (less pennies) or increase difficulty (more pennies). **
