According to the Qur'an, Jesus is dead?

by Jamil McCant In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Many Muslims as well as Christians all anticipate the Second Coming of Christ, who is said to return to clear up misconceptions about his Divinity and whether or not he died on the cross. It is also reported that he will proclaim Islam as the True Religion by allying himself alongside Imam Mahdi, a savior who is expected to appear before the end of time and cleanse the world of corruption and bring victory to the Muslims on Earth, as well as create a New Islamic World Order comparable to that of King Solomon and Dhul Qarnayn. How is it that an event so grand has not been mentioned even once in the Quran? Does not Allah say that the Quran is Fully-Detailed? The Quran is sufficiently detailed by Allah the Most Wise, and it reminds us of this aspect repeatedly (6:19,38,55,97,114116,119,126; 7:32,52,174; 9:11; 10:5,24,37; 11:1; 12:111; 13:2; 17:12; 30:28; 41:3; 41:44; 79:19). As we will show, none of this is mentioned in the Quran, as it is only found in Hadith. Not only that, but it actually contradicts the Quran. We will also show how the Quran has been brought under Hadith Compliance by interpreters and translators by translating/interpreting the ayats in such a way that it would make it appear to agree with the Hadith, rather than dismissing them as forgeries. Many false Hadith, referred to as 'Al-Isra'iliyyaat, which are forgeries by Christian and Jewish converts to Islam cropped up a few hundred years after the death of the Final Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (as). This story is more than likely based on one of those Hadith. Allah says:

5:116 And Allah will say: O Jesus, son of Mary, did you tell the people to take you and your mother as Allahs other than Allah? He said: Glory to you, I cannot say what I have no right of. If I had said it then You know it, You know what is in my self while I do not know what is in Your self. You are the Knower of the unseen. 5:117 I only said to them what You commanded me to say, that you shall serve Allah my Lord and your Lord; and I was witness over them as long as I was with them, -->BUT WHEN YOU TERMINATED MY LIFE<--, You were watcher over them. You are witness over all things. ** This word (tawaffaytani) in Surah Al-Maidah 116-117 literally means You caused me to die, but is translated as You raised me up because it is being interpreted based on hadiths that state that Isa (AS) is still alive and will be returning at the end of time to proclaim Islam as the true religion. ** Allah says in Quran that the Jews neither killed or crucified Isa (AS): 4:157 And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God. In fact, -->THEY NEVER KILLED HIM, THEY NEVER CRUCIFIED HIM - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.* ** The ayat says the did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it does not say he never died. Because of the ways these ayats have been translated/interpreted them in light of forged hadith, many people believe that Jesus (AS) is alive, and they ignore the ayats where Allah clearly states that Jesus (AS) is dead and that Allah is the one who made him die. ** See the ways this word is used in Quran according to the Concordance of Quran on Quran.com

Verb (form V) - to pass away, to die (2:234:2) yutawaffawna pass away (2:240:2) yutawaffawna die

(3:193:18) watawaffan and cause us to die

(4:15:16) yatawaffhunna comes to them (4:97:3) tawaffhumu )take them (in death

(5:117:20) tawaffaytan You raised me (6:60:3) yatawaffkum )takes your (soul (6:61:13) tawaffathu take him

(7:37:20) yatawaffawnahum (to) take them in death (7:126:15) watawaffan and cause us to die (8:50:4) yatawaff take away souls

(10:46:7) natawaffayannaka We cause you to die (10:104:21) yatawaffkum causes you to die (12:101:18) tawaffan

Cause me to die

(13:40:8) natawaffayannaka We cause you to die (16:28:2) tatawaffhumu take them in death (16:32:2) tatawaffhumu take them in death (16:70:4) yatawaffkum will cause you to die (22:5:43) yutawaff dies

(40:67:23) yutawaff dies

(40:77:12) natawaffayannaka We cause you to die (47:27:3) tawaffathumu take them in death

In another ayat: 3:55 For Allah said: O Jesus, -->I WILL TERMINATE YOUR LIFE<--, and RAISE YOU TO ME, and cleanse you of those who have rejected, and make those who have followed you above those who have rejected until the Day of Resurrection. Then

to Me is your return, all of you, so I will judge between you in what it was that you disputed. This word (mutawaffeeka) is only used once in Quran. It is translated in many translations as I will take you, even though it comes from the same root (tawaffaa, cause to die) as tawaffaytanee (You caused me to die).

Active participle (form V) (3:55:6) mutawaffka (will) take you

Allah says that the Messengers that came before the Prophet Muhammad (AS) have passed away: 3:144 And Muhammed is but a messenger, the messengers who came before him have long since passed away. If he dies or is killed will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm Allah in the least. And Allah will recompense the thankful. Allah says Jesus and Mary USED TO eat food: 5:75 The Messiah, son of Mary, is no more than a messenger; the messengers who came before him have long since passed away; and his mother was trustworthy, they USED TO eat the food. See how We clarify the signs for them, then see how they deviate. ** This can be viewed as a refutation to those who ascribed divinity to Jesus and Mary and claimed they were partners alongside Allah. They ate food, which means they relied upon the provisions of Allah. This would refute the claim of their divinity. Allah says that they USED TO eat food, meaning they no longer do. **

Allah says that all messengers were mortal men who relied on food: 21:7 And We did not send before you except men whom We inspired to. So ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know. 21:8 And We did not make for them bodies that do not need to eat, nor were they immortal. ** We can conclude that if Jesus is still alive in his body, he would need to eat food in order to survive. Allah says he and his mother no longer eat food. This is an indicator that neither are no longer alive in their physical bodies, which cannot leave the physical plane, but must return to the earth. ** Do dead people come back to life? 23:99 Until death comes to one of them, he says: "My Lord, send me back." 23:100 "So that I may do good in what I have left behind." No, it is but a word he is speaking. There is a barrier to prevent them from going back until the day they are all resurrected.* 23:101 So when the horn is blown, then there will be no kinship between them on that day, nor will they ask for one another. ** Allah clearly states here that when we die, we do not come back here to this physical plane, nor do we have power to interact with the physical world. Jesus returning from the dead would be reincarnation (Tanasukh), which is counter to Islamic belief. Thats another reason why proponents of the Return of Jesus say he was raised alive to Heaven. We have already proven this to be false ** Jesus on the Day of Judgment:

** The story of Jesus on Earth seems to pretty much end there with no mention of returning to Earth. The story picks up on the Day of Judgment when he is being questioned by Allah as to whether he told the people to worship him and his mother Mary, which he strongly denies. He also says he did not witness what took place afterwards, which is another indication that he indeed died and passed through the oneway barrier known as Barzakh, remaining there until the Day of Judgment. ** 3:55 For Allah said: O Jesus, -->I WILL TERMINATE YOUR LIFE<--, and RAISE YOU TO ME, and cleanse you of those who have rejected, and make those who have followed you above those who have rejected until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, all of you, so I will judge between you in what it was that you disputed. ** This would have been a perfect time for Allah to announce the return of Jesus to the world, but He does not. Allah also says He will make those who followed him above those who have rejected until the Day of Resurrection. Those who followed him could never refer to those who deified Jesus and his Mother, rather this could only refer to the Muslims who followed him at that time and those who believed in the Message of the Qur'an. as Muslims we do not make

distinctions between the Messengers of Allah. Their message is one and the same and those who follow the Quran are indeed followers of the same teachings preached by Jesus. There is no mention of a return of Jesus to the world to straighten things out among the Christians. To say otherwise would suggest that sending the Final Prophet and the Qur'an, which is referred to by Allah as the Clarifiying Book would not have been enough to guide people to the straight path. Rather, Christians would need a Prophet from 2,000 or so years prior to come back on the clouds in order to convince them. Why not bring back all the Prophets in that case? The case of the Christians was closed when Allah did Tawaffaa to Jesus and brought the Final Prophet with the Qur'an explaining the truth of the matter. Those who fell into dispute over the reality of Jesus will have a tough choice to make; they can either accept the Word of Allah and the Truth of the Qur'an, or wait to have it all sorted out on the Day of Judgment when it's too late. ** This is just my humble observation. My opinion is not to be followed. Follow the Qur'an and the Guidance of Allah! Everything I said that is accurate and true is from Allah, and any mistakes are mine. And Allah Knows Best! **
