For better unde rstanding the safety and welfaremeasures of employees, the research was carried out in Ashok Leyland Limited, Ennore.The primary objective of this study is to a nalyze the effectiveness of safety and welfaremeasures of employees and suggests appropriate measures taken by the employees in Ashok Leyland Limited.To accompl ish the primary objective of the study, a survey was conducted by preparing astr uctured questionnaire which contains closed end question, and open end question. The research design used for this study is descriptive in nature. The descripti ve study helpsthe researcher to find out various characteristics of the populati on.Random sampling technique was adopted for selecting sample units from the emp loyees. Asampling size of 100 respondents selected for analyzing their opinion regarding safety andwelfare measures in Ashok Leyland Limited.The methods of dat a collection for the study include both primary and secondary data. Theprimary data were collected through questionnaire by conducting personal interview with theemployees. The source of secondary data was company profiles and websites. The statisticaltool used for analyzing and interpreting the opinions of the empl oyees and the tool includessimple percentage analysis, mean and cross tabulation .The results were presented with the help of different charts and diagrams. This means that the manager mustfirst determine what the employees real needs are wit h the active participation of workers.The service should such as can be handled b y cafeteria approach. Due to the differencein Sex, age, marital status, number of children, type of job and the income level of employees there are large diffe rences in their choice of a particular benefit. This is11 known as the cafeteria approach. Such an approach individualizes the benefit sy stemthough it may be difficult to operate and administer.The employer should not assume a benevolent posture.The cost of the service should be calculated and its financing established on a soundbasis.There should be periodical assessment or ev aluation of the service and necessary timelyon the basis of feedback.1.2 IMPORTA NCE OF THE STUDYIf there is no safety and welfare measure, there is no organizat ion. The importanceof this study is as follows, Employee safety and welfare measur es are the important factors of an organization tomaintain quality of work life of the employee. Itdevelops both efficiency and productivity among the workers.12 This study will helpful to create a good relationship between employees as well a s theemployer. This study is help to the organization while analyze the problems f acing byan employees regarding this measures.
