BeforeyouconnecteverythingyoufirstneedtoinstalltheMaximusLizardDrivers.Thesearesigned andworkinWindowsXP/Vista/7both32bitand64bit.ThedrivesshouldautoinstallonWindows7 andVista. 1. PlugyouLizardintothePCbytheprovidedUSBcable

2. OpentheToolboxandclickGetDeviceDetails.MakesureyouhaveGecko 1.17(Toolbox1.0.30andupwillinformyouwhenthereisanupdatetoyourLizard)if youdonothave1.17STOPanUPDATEyouLizard!!!

3. GotoyourLizard,navigatetotheSlimLiteontab.MTKtheDriveandchecktheVendorID,EFis WinbondandC2isMacronix.Thishackwillworkwithbothbutthereisamuchsaferandeasier unlockforaMacronix,pleaserefertotheTridentManual http://www.360lizard.com/website/downloads/Trident_v10.pdf

4. OnceyouhaveconfirmedyourdriveisaEF(Winbond)drivegoaheadandclickReadKeyfrom SlimDrive.EithertoPCorLizard(refertoSlimmanualifyourenotfamiliarwiththisstep)

5. EjecttheTrayandgoaheadanddisconnecttheLizardandyourdrivepower,Lets disassemblethedrive.(Leavetrayejected) 1. Removethe4screwsfromthebottomoftheDrive

2. GentlypeelbacktheFoambehindDiscTray(orslicethefoamwheredrive separates)

 3. Liftthebottomcoveroff.

4. Weneedtoremovetheepoxyfromthechiptoseethepins,thisstepishighly recommendedtogetanaccuratecoordinatesonwheretodrill,butitsyour choice.Applyheattotheepoxywithaheatgunorhairdryeronalow setting(itsjustepoxynotsolder).Whileheatinguseyourrazorknifetocut awayattheepoxyuntilallisremoved.Itdoesnthavetobeperfectlycleanjust clearenoughtogetagoodviewofthepins.Becarefulnottodamagethechip orboardinthisprocess.

 5. Getouttherulerandscoringdevice(safetypin)andmakethecoordinatesby usingthepinsfollowingthisdiagram.DONOTRELYONTHELABEL!!!

6. Nextweneedtosolderour100ohmresistortothe3.3vlineontheboardat thepowerharness.Youalsoneedtosolderathinpieceofwiretotheresistor longenoughtoreachthebit.

7. AtthispointwearereadytohooktheLizardandpowerbackuptothedrive.

8. BackintheSlimmenunavigatetoLock/UnlockWriteonSlimLiteon,youwill bepromptedtoMTKthedrive,powercycleandclickOK.

9. TimetoHardUnlockGettheDremel/Drillready!

10. Beforeyoudrillunderstandwhatyouareattemptingtocut.Theseare microscopicwiresinaverysmallchipbeEXTREMELYcareful!The2wires crossingeachotherinphotoiswhatweareafter,DONOTgotoodeep,DO NOTmakeahugewhole.Theideaistoslowlysandawayuntilyouhavecut them.So,dontrush!Itsnotapieceofwoodthereisnoneedtopresshard,let theweightofthebitslowlycutthrough.

11. PressOKtoHardUnlock.Takethewireconnectedtotheresistorandtouchitto thedrillbitasyoudrill,itisveryimportantthatitisincontactwiththebitthe entiretime.

Note:THE"DRILLITNOW"messageshouldbeblinkingallthetime, ifyouseeitstopsblinkingitsmorelikelytheDriveishanged,STOP drillingimmediately(Hangcanoccurifyoutouchanotherlineother thanWP)

Again,dontusealotofpressure,theweightofthedrillshouldbeenough.Take yourtime! TheLizardissendingcommandsduringthisprocessitwillnotifyyouassoonas thewireshavebeencut,assoonasityouseethisscreenSTOPDRILLING!!!

 12. Success!YourdrivehasWP(WriteProtection)hasbeenremoved 13. Fromherewesuggest(Butyoudontneedtodothis)Performafullreadofthe firmware(100%FullDump).GototheFullReadFirmwareIcon.

14. GoaheadthepresstheOKbuttonandtheprocesswillbegin.Followtheon screeninstructions.

15. StartFilegetonPCwillappear.GototheToolboxandclickthe Fileget/SnapshotGetbuttonandtheLizardwilldumpthedrive100%.Afull dumpisimportant,ithelpsavoidtheOpenTrayerrorplaguingtheSlimswith CFW.

16. Withafulldumpsavedwecangoaheadandourdrive.SimplygotheWriteFW totheDVDDriveandfollowtheLizardprompts, 17. AfterwritingthefirmwarewecanRELOCKthedrive.Thisisoptionalbut recommendedastobeLivesafe. 18. GotoLock/UnlockWriteonSlimLiteonandpressOK.

19. PressOKtoperformlock.

20. Specifythetypeoflockyouwant.Asoftlockcanbeunlockedagainwithjust theLizard.Ahardlockwillrequirethepiezoigniter.Ahardlockis recommendedtobeLivesafe.

21. SPILockSuccess!
