Responsible Marijuana Project Press Release V.1 Page 1 Open letter to Seattle Police Chief John Diaz Page 2 Open letter to the cannabis community of Seattle Page 3 Open letter to Seattle Police Officers Open Letter to Seattle Police Chief John Diaz, Responsible Marijuana Project, also referred to as RMP, was created to speak to the American public about the benefits of ending marijuana prohibition and stopping corrupt marijuana policies/practices. John Diaz you are profiting off of racist, prejudice, and fraudulent laws. We would encourage you to examine your marijuana arrest records if you need proof. Marijuana laws are racist, prejudice and fraudulent. This fact is well documented. If you wish to debate this, RMP will happily accept. Demands: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Apologize for profiteering off of racist, prejudice and fraudulent laws. Immediately stop enforcing racist, prejudice and fraudulent laws. Demand that medical marijuana dispensaries be opened up to adult recreational users. Advocate for the removal of all marijuana convictions from all arrest records. Advocate for the restitution of the loss of property until the restitution has been granted. Advocate for hemp and green jobs. Instruct all police under your command and encourage all police chiefs in Washington State to do likewise.

Our demands are not hard demands to fulfill. Ending laws that should have never existed should not be hard. This task should be taken on with pride. Seattle has often considered itself a leader in tolerance and the values of tolerance. You will have support in this work. Not only from past police chiefs but also from a wide number of politicians that have already gone on the record for ending these indefensible laws. Consequences: Responsible Marijuana Project is not willing to compromise on the fact that marijuana prohibition is racist, prejudice and fraudulent. It will be extremely offensive to the marijuana community if you choose to remain in power without confronting these accusations. You are now Responsible Marijuana Projects top priority. We would like very much for you to become an advocate for recreational marijuana legalization. If you do not choose to be an advocate for ending racist, prejudice and fraudulent laws we will demand you resign immediately. Seattle does not need a police chief that supports racist, prejudice and fraudulent laws. It is now our goal to see a police chief who is supportive of normalizing marijuana laws. There is no excuse for continuing the prohibition of cannabis. Cannabis helped build this country. The time to bring marijuana prohibition to an end is now. This is a bi-partisan issue. This is something the majority of Americans can agree on but it is going to take strong leadership. You, John Diaz-Police Chief of Seattle, have a strong city behind you. One that is willing to support you in this endeavor. We are asking you to take advantage of Seattles strengths. Sincerely, Responsible Marijuana Project

Open letter to the cannabis community of Seattle Press Release V.1 This letter is to tell you why Responsible Marijuana Project is giving an ultimatum to the Seattle Chief of Police John Diaz and why you should too. It has become very clear in Americas current political climate that we cannot count on politicians to work together or to compromise. Voter initiatives for medical marijuana are being diluted or declared unconstitutional. Every possible road block to ending marijuana prohibition is either being thrown at us or is being prepared to be thrown at us. We have little more than a year left to take advantage of the best opportunity the marijuana community has had to end marijuana prohibition nationwide. The time for compromising is at an end. Now is the time to uniformly declare marijuana laws racist, prejudice and fraudulent. I hope I dont need to remind you of the lies and persecution that has been brought on the marijuana community by our government. The evidence that the United States of America has blatantly lied about the effects of marijuana use is overwhelming. Marijuana arrest records clearly show marijuana laws to be racist. This fact is the best argument the marijuana community has to defeat marijuana prohibition. Cannabis organizations have been saying this for a while; unfortunately it has not become the main rallying cry. This needs to change. The most effective rallying cry we have is that these laws are racist, fraudulent and should have never existed. The marijuana community must quit bickering. Dueling petitions will not work. Find a single goal. Prop 19 should not have failed. Any marijuana user that could have voted for that bill and didnt should be ashamed. The first bill that passes will not be the last. We will want to change it and so will they. It will always be a give and take, remember that. Our number one goal should be respect. We want to be respected, plain and simple. We want to be able to walk into a store with our heads held up high and say yes I marijawanna and not have to worry about getting jacked. Touting new revenue streams, new green jobs, versatility of hemp and increased safety for all is all well and good but where has that gotten us? We are still being set aside as if we are spoiled children wishing for more candy. Responsible Marijuana Project is sending a clear message to prohibitionists that we are not going to put up with this any longer. We have been persecuted and subjugated for too long. Every reason prohibitionists give for marijuana prohibition is hypocritical. The time to make demands is now. The time to accuse politicians of supporting racist, prejudice and fraudulent laws is now. The time to accuse our police force for enforcing racist, prejudice and fraudulent laws is now. The time to stand together is now. If we do not take a stand the federal government will feel like it can waltz into Washington State and trample all that we have accomplished. We must let them know that if they decide to come into Washington State and push us around, we are prepared and committed to push back. Sincerely, Responsible Marijuana Project

Open letter to Seattle Police Officers Press Release V.1 If any of the statements Responsible Marijuana Project (RMP) has made or the posters we have displayed in Seattle and on our web site have offended you personally please know that this letter is specifically designed to offer you an explanation. The time for hiding is over. Please understand this. It isnt doing our country any favors. It is time to make amends. You are being placed in a very difficult position. The presence of gray laws doesnt help anyone. You are the front lines to our most critical situations. You see things the general public does not. The marijuana community may only see how you react to them but we still see a side of the force the general public does not. We would like nothing more than to see our differences come to an end. When Responsible Marijuana Project stands it stands for democracy. We need to stand for democracy together. We need to bring respect to the citizens who feel they have been disrespected. We know the last thing you want to be doing is hassle someone over marijuana possession so please know that when we accuse any police officer of being racist or prejudice it is because they are enforcing racist and prejudice laws. These laws need to end and you need to help. I hope you can respect our right to make these accusations. This is the essence of our democracy. We have a right to accuse you of wrongs just as much as you have the right to accuse us. We are accusing you of wrongs. Please make no mistake about it. That does not mean that we need to escalate it to a point we will both regret. The only thing I can tell you is that these laws must change. 800,000+ yearly arrests can no longer be overlooked. Thus a new stage has opened in the marijuana communitys political situation, the stage of actual resistance. The stage of preparation for resistance is over. In the present stage the central task is to mobilize all the nations forces for victory in ending marijuana prohibition. The key to victory lies in developing the resistance that has already begun into a machine of total resistance by the whole nation. Only through such total resistance can final victory by won. The existence of serious weaknesses in the resistance may lead to many setbacks, retreats, internal splits, betrayals, temporary and partial compromises and other such reverses. Therefore it should be realized that the resistance will be an arduous and protracted political battle. But RMP is confident that, through the efforts of our campaign and the whole of the people, the resistance already started will sweep aside all obstacles and continue to advance and develop. Adapted from Protracted War This is exactly where the marijuana community is, in a protracted political war. However, this country doesnt want to call it thata war. This is my challenge to you, if we are truly not at war, where is the amends? Where is the respect? Why is the marijuana community still being persecuted? The time to end the war on marijuana is now! Sincerely, Responsible Marijuana Project
