PNP AIDSOTF CELEBRATES 8TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY WITH FULL COMMITMENT TO THE CONTINUING FIGHT AGAINST

Police Deputy Director General RAUL L CASTAEDA , the Task Force Commander of the PNP-Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) reports the positive outcome of its unrelenting anti-drug campaigns as its celebrates the 8th founding anniversary on Monday, August 1, 2011 in simple rites at NHQ, Camp Crame, Quezon City. This year theme is Tulong-tulong , Sama-sama sa Pagsugpo ng Bawal na Droga Tungo sa Isang Mapayapang Sambayanan. The Honorable Senator Gregorio B. Honasan II, Chairman, Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs is the Guest of Honor and Speaker. PDDG Castaeda reports the 2010-2011 accomplishments of AIDSOTF and RAIDSOTGs, its counterpart units in the regions, in support and cooperation with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). This includes the conduct of 5,388 anti-drug operations resulting in the seizure of 353.21 kilograms of shabu with an estimated DDB value of Php2.8 Billion, Php812 Million worth of Marijuana, 455.82 kilograms of cocaine. These operations resulted in the arrest of 7,741 drug offenders including twenty eight (28) foreign nationals and the filing of 7,465 drug cases. The AIDSOTF also conducted series of drug awareness seminars benefitting 193,228 persons from different schools, private companies, barangays and other sector of the government. Seminars intended for uniformed personnel were likewise conducted participated in by NCRPO and its five (5) police districts and Coast Guard personnel. The AIDSOTFs partnership with the DHRDD also led in the organization of five (5) classes of International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) assisted training benefitting 138 PNP personnel from the different Police Offices in Puerto Princesa, Cabanatuan, Batangas, Marikina and Quezon City respectively. The AIDSOTF launched the PNP Manual on Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation and Investigation from which anti-drug personnel will have a better understanding of the proper procedures in anti-illegal drugs operations and investigating drug cases to pursue conviction and punishing the drug offenders. Series of trainings were also conducted regarding this manual benefitting 243 PNP, Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Corrections personnel. One of the highlights of the anniversary celebration is the awarding of plaques and certificates of recognition for deserving anti-drug personnel for their individual outstanding accomplishment in the field of operations, investigation and administration, including individuals from other government sectors who tirelessly assisted the AIDSOTF in its fight against drug menace. PSUPT ISMAEL G FAJARDO JR bagged the Senior Field PCO of the Year award for leading series of operations against transnational and international drug syndicates engaged in the production and smuggling of illegal drugs. Other awardees are PCINSP ROQUE A MERDEGIA JR, PINSP JAY JAMES DL NEPOMUCENO, SPO3 Lito T Pirote, SPO3 Conrado H Caragdag Jr, PO2 Marianito R Carpio Jr, PO2 Junvi P Melchor and NUP Reynaldo Tenorio with special commendation for SPO3 Fernando T. Galang for his impressive accomplishment in the field of community relations. Plaque of recognition will be given to PDDG NICANOR A BARTOLOME, PDIR REY L LAADA and PDIR ALAN LM PURISIMA for their significant contributions to the successful operations of AIDSOTF during their stint as RAIDSOTG Commanders. Special Awards will also be given to Executive Judge Fernando T. Sagun of Quezon City Regional Trial Court, Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Severino H. Gana of DOJ and Special Agent Robert Cash of United States Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Chief of the Philippine National Police, PDG RAUL M BACALZO expresses his warmth gratitude and commends the officers, men and women of AIDSOTF headed by its Task Force Commander PDDG ATTY RAUL L CASTAEDA for its total commitment in the curbing of big time drug syndicates including the transnational group involved in the manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs in the country.
