I find Azreen in many of us.At one period of our lives,we can be so vulnerable and emotional.

However as we grow up, we learna few tricks about how to live a happy contented life.A person changes with time.So does Azreen. Her friendship with the Old Ladyhas changed her outlook towards life. She begins to accept what has been fated and not to suck over small things that happen around her. I have heard many times people saying that you cannot choose your parents. It is very true in Azreen's case.Though Salleh is extremely strict and hot-tempered, as a daughter, she ought to accept him. She mustn't have any ill-thoughts about her father. He must have loved her so much.He lays out some of his expectations clearly. He may be orthodox in his thinking but he never ab andons her.He comes to her rescue in a few occasions such as when she is being attacked by Puan Normala and the villagers. Many of us have conflict with our parents because we have so much in common with them.Lee tries to show this through Azreen.A zreen takes after her father a lot!She has his temper, his stubbornness and frankness. 2. Love between family members Father s love- Salleh rescues Azreen a few times from two incidents of fire from a fight with Puan Normala Mother s love- Azreen s mother does not scold her for breaking her rattan basket teaches her how to make new one does not blame her for the accident Sister s love Madhuri- protects Azreen a few times from beatings helps to weave rattan basket to replace the damaged basket writes many letters to Azreen when she is in London This poem uses a conversational style with the poet. People are referred to here is one who can play the flute. At first glan it was like ce love poetry as much use of the words soft and romantic. * Poets feel guilty for treating nostalgia to the flute player. That feeling of guilt he thought of something beautiful likeart. In the city he should have been busy for that life passes quickly. There have been many times in life when I have turned to a God with problems and wanted answers or solutions and received nothing. When this happens, I take the time to reflect and ask myself, Why, when I do some many good things, do I not receive any answers or solutions to my problems? The book When Bad Things Happen to Good People, written by Harold S. Kushner, has brought some answers to my problems.

This book explained and helps clarify why even though I am not a bad person, that sometimes bad things are bound to happen. When Kushner wrote this book I feel that, the meaning of his writings were that God does not mean to punish us, he just means to test us and present us with problems and see how we react to them. As put best he wrote, The God I believe in does not send us the problem; he gives us the strength to cope with it. (127). Kushner makes many references to the bible and his belief in a higher power, God . I personally may not think there can be one and only one God but I do believe in a higher being or power and I like how Kushner makes sure to point out that he is not calling it the God but his God. It shows an almost non-biast opinion and it shows a lot of respect towards all groups of people. I remember one time specifically when my grandma recently passed away I tur ned to God for answers. Instead of getting an answer, I got more problems. My grandma and grandma both had strokes, my best friends and a cousin got merry and is unhappy, my friend is going through an crisis with her family along with all of the other norm al problems that go on in live that we, as humans, have learned to expect in everyday life. My belief in one and only one God diminished. I felt that there was no one up there looking out for me and then in reading this book answered a bunch of my questi ons on why God did not give me any specific answers. It showed me that perhaps God has given me the strength to move on and realize that everything will go on and how to cope with everything. Kushner also had a good point in saying that, Could it be that God does not cause bad things that happen to us...but rather stands ready to help them? (29 -30). I agree with what he is saying in this quote. My God helped me through those rough times just like his God helped him through everything that was going on with his son. Even though the person that meant the most to him was suffering of a bad disease, and eventually passed away, he trusted in God and understood what God was doing and that everything that happened was a test and made things better in the long ru n. He understood and helped me understand that God does everything for a reason and has a master plan that he wants each of us to abide by and to follow. This book gave me a lot of insight on life and what everything means to me and what I should expec t with life. I thought that Kushner did a good job of not offending me in the fact that he had a wider opinion on God and his beliefs and not being narrow-minded about the fact that people are different in their opinions. Praying is not the same thing, whe n we pray we ask God to interfere in our life and to help us because he is in control, but we still have the free of choice even after receiving God s blessing or prayers requests. Bad things happened to good people because obstacles, temptations, and difficulties are parts of God s plan for us in this world.

My dream is to live in a big detached house surrounded by a big garden full of flowers and trees. I wouldn't like to live in an apartment with blocks of flats and rude neighbors making noise in the middle of the night. My dream house should be located outside the city, on the outskirts of town wher e I can find true peace and happiness. Therefore, my dream house should have the characteristics that represent my spiritual world and personality with its location as well as its inner and outer design . From my point of view, the location of my dream hou se is very important and the surroundings and the position of a house should be carefully considered. I've always been fascinated by rivers and the sound of the birds in the mornings. I'd feel positive and lively if I was woken up by the sound of doves per ched on the branches of the trees. In this respect, I imagine my dream house near a flowing river, built in the countryside. It would be located in such a place that I could find fresh wa ter and air. In addition, my house's position would enable me to have as many pets as possible since a large garden with enough space would provide shelter for them. Also, I'd like my dream house to be near to the city centre so that I might go to big shopping malls with my car if I needed to. As a matter of fact, peace and harmony combined with nature would be the basic feature of the location of my dream house with its closeness to the city for emergency situations and supplying the necessities. My dream house's interior design should be carefully planned because I believe that beauty lies within the details. Consequently, I'd like it to have a big, spacious hall since it is the first place that you see as you come in through the fr ont door. At the end of the hall, there would be a staircase leading upstairs. I'd like to d ecorate the walls of the hall with famous artist's reproductions of still life paintings. For me, these paintings would give person feelings of relaxation and serenity . The first room on the right would be the living -room which is quite large and full of l ight. Day light is essential for me so I'd like to have big windows in the living room. A door from the living room would lead to a small study where I could write, read books and work on my assignments. This small room would make me feel calm and attentiv e so I could focus my attention to my projects. Upstairs there would be bedroom and bathroom. Also, my bedroom would reflect my inner world and privacy so it would be painted with my favorite color which is blue. My view is that blue is the color that repr esents my feelings of harmony and peace. In short I can say that, the interior of my dream house is like my spiritual world so I'd decorate it in s uch a way that all the rooms, objects and colors would symbolize my true feelings. The outer design of my dream house should be attractively decorated as much as the interior because I prefer to spend time outdoors. I desire to have magnificent gardens surrounding my house. The front garden should be full of flowers, bushes and fruit trees. The scent of flowers and fruit trees mixed in the air reminds me of heavenly moments filled with happiness and joy. The back garden should be very large so that I can have a lawn with a swimming pool. In addition, there would be another lawn which comes up to the patio. There would also be a flower bed near the back door and a path leading to the garden shed and the greenhouse, where I'd like to grow my own tomatoes, green peppers, parsleys, eggplants. Besides, there would be a large cage filled with different species of birds like peacocks or parrots. I'd let the door of the cage be open all the time for freedom is very important for me. Birds would come into the cage whenever they want to feed themselves. Watching colorful birds flying above my head while swimming in the pool would be a fantastic experience. Since the outside of my dream house would let me be alone with nature and fill my soul with peace and quietness, its design is very important and attentively arranged. In my opinion, each person has a dream house that cont inues to remain on his mind as long as he lives. Places we spend our life is very significant because our moods are affected by the design and the location. If we live in a place filled with noi se, chaos and air pollution our feelings would tend to be nega tive. On the contrary, if we live in a place close to the serenity of nature, our minds, bodies and spirits will be filled with positive energies. That's why I'd like my dream house be located on the outskirts of a city, encircled with flowers, trees and b irds. Likewise, we either feel relaxed or tenser inside our homes. If the interior design and colors used arise feelings of anger or anxiety we will be unhappy and depressed in our houses. Therefore, I prefer to plan interior of my dream house to give me f eelings of relaxation and joy. In conclusion, everything about my dream house would reflect my feelings, thoughts and my personality so when you step in my house, you would, in a way, get into my inner world.
