Praise and Prayer

Praise God for the
changed lives at MYC

AMERICAN INVASION
Last letter I wrote to you about our great need for laborers for the harvest here in Newcastle. God is answering that prayer in His time, but Ill write about that next letter. In the short term weve had a team comprised of 10 American students from the Greater Northwest helping us out on campus for the first 3 weeks of the second semester. They were such a mature group of students, and they shared the Gospel with Aussie students around 70 times. So many lives were impacted by their presence. One of those students is David. He met one of the American guys, Kenton, early in the first week of the semester, and they hit it off. David has very little knowledge of Christianity and Kenton was able to share his testimony with him about how God changed his own life at uni. During their last meeting, David shared that he was really close to giving his life to Christ! Kenton introduced David to me and the other Student Lifers, and I will begin meeting with him to do a Christianity Explained course. Praise God for David and please pray for him to understand the cost of following Jesus. Pray for protection from the enemy. Whats Next Week 5 of the semester starts tomorrow. The next several weeks we will spend capitalizing on the momentum from MYC and the US Summer Project. There are still a few students to follow up, and the Summer Project brought in several students who are keen to get involved. Please continue to pray for the growth of our ministry into a movement of multiplying disciples. God is working here, but a sustainable movement is still a ways off. We are beginning promotion for our own 2 week Summer Project up in Byron Bay from November 20 to December 3. Summer Project here in Australia is 2 weeks of intense hands on training to help students (and missionaries) to learn to share their faith more effectively. Two weeks on Summer Project can sometimes equal an entire years worth of spiritual growth. Please pray for students to catch the vision and come! At Newcastle we have little history where past students have gone on Project, so in many ways, it can be very difficult to convince students that it is worth the sacrifice of time and comfort.

Praise for David! Pray for

him to receive Christ soon.

Pray for Aussie students

to come on Summer Project this summer

Continue praying for laborers for Newcastle, both missionaries and students. Pray that our ministry would be come a movement.

MID-YEAR CONFERENCE 2011

We have a new teammate! Erin Cooper (middle). MYC was amazing this year! Students were challenged in their faith by our speaker John North as well as the trainings, seminars, outreach day, and other fun activities. Here are a few stories from students who came on MYC: MYC what a week! God challenged me to truly understand what being a follower of Jesus means. I learnt that Gods plans for me didnt end with my salvation. My purpose in life has been turned upside down as I was taught about Jesus command to make disciples of all nations. I experienced love within the family of Christ! I experienced the power of prayer! Check out more testimonies at www.gradytoews.com
