GOAL of CARE
After nursing intervention, the family will take the necessary measures to control hypertension.

OBJECTIVES of CARE
At the end of nursing intervention, the family is expected to: a. Understand in their level what hypertension is. b. Identify some signs and symptoms of hypertension.

NURSING INTERVENTIONS
a. Educate on the nature of the disease. y Cause y Signs & symptoms y Factors that contribute to hypertension y Complications b. Discuss possible ways of providing adequate measure for hypertension. y Low cholesterol, low sodium diet.

RATIONALE

y Salt may cause an elevation in blood volume; increase the sensitivity of cardiovascular or renal mechanisms to adrenergic influences.

c. Enumerate some factors that contribute to hypertension. d. Give some measures with ease to prevent hypertension.

y Decrease weight, if appropriate.

y Weight loss is effective in reducing BP in obese hypertensive patients.

y Maintenance of regular exercise.

y Visit the health center as needed.

y Monitoring BP can prevent further complications.
