46 {BEAR} Defensive Pressure Scheme: {J.

Lewis}
Name: The 46 PRESSURE Philosophy:

Play Description: Designed around a simple concept: Pressure wins games. Pressure defense is not a rigid concept. It is a sound and flexible concept with specific rules established to guarantee its integrity in all possible situations. {AT ITS FUNDAMENTAL CORE, THIS DEFENSE IS GEARED TO SHUT DOWN THE RUN GAME} Scouting Notes: The DB's work in unison while carrying out their assignments with a fool proof system of executing their Man & Zone scheme. This system incorporates Land Mark drops within its Zones but also has built in Pattern Reading Rules that allow the 2ndary distinct advantages when pressuring the Zones.

Extended Play Description: Considered by many to be an unconventional defense, the 46 attack package is unconventional in only the matter of never allowing your opponent any breathing room. This scheme forces one on one matchups across the board while limiting an offense's help capabilities. The end result of this scheme is One-On-One Trench Warfare. With built in 'Jayhawk' Adjustment rules, this defense is flexible enough to line up against any offensive set and still maintain its unique numbers advantage within the 'Box' and Man matchups along the line. The wide (9 Technique) by the the WSDE causes major strain to the Tackle playing him. And by the TKL widening to block this 9 tech. The 3 technique next to it in essence becomes another isolated DE type situation. Coupled with the SDT (Nose) Isolated on the Center, along with 2nd level 'Flow' rules, this defense is virtually inpenetrable. The Primary Coverages within this scheme are 'Man Free' & 'Cover-3' along with a viscious Blitz package.

Name: 4-6 {BEAR} Tenets of the 46 Defense

Play Description: PHILOSOPHY: -Score on Defense -Create Turnovers -Play Exceptional D&D Defense -Control Field Position -Play Great Short Yardage & Goal Line Defense

Scouting Notes: Key Principles To Greatness: No opponent will out-hustle our Defensive unit. Great Defense is the offspring of individual commitment. Defensive Excellence stems from a high level of conditioning.

Extended Play Description: 46 SCHEME GUARANTEE THAT WE: 1) Outnumber the Tackle 2 Tackle blocking scheme @ the point of attack. 2) Pressure the QB relentlessly on every pass play. 3) Force major adjustments in Run & Pass blocking schemes. 4) Force Offensive schemes to use unfamiliar alternatives to their base philosophy of attack. 5) Blitz @ will w/o substantial changes to personnel. 6) Cover all possible pass patterns while continuing to pressure the QB. 7) Force One-On-One matchups across the board. 8) Free the 2nd level LB & S/S to run to the football. 9) Dictate the Flow of the game. 10) Intimidate & Dominate an Offense.
