INTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTING AUGUST 29, 2011 POSITION: MENTORING FACILITATOR, JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The

Job Search Workshop program offers a range of resources, supports and services to respond to the employment, language and settlement needs of Internationally Trained Individuals. POSITION PURPOSE: To assist newcomers in their path to integration and employment in Canada by matching them with suitable Settlement or Employment Mentors RESPONSIBILITIES: Support clients in their settlement and employment needs by arranging suitable mentoring relationships Assess and recruit participants (mentors and mentees) Facilitate orientation sessions for program participants Outreach and network to recruit suitable mentors Monitor and support mentoring relationships Provide on-going counselling and assistance to program participants Arrange networking and information events for participants Assist in organizing Networking events, Guest speaker events and other sessions Maintain client files, follow up and update information and submit monthly reports Update information into agencys client tracking system Assist in the evaluation of services and present solutions to enhance service delivery Work as part of the Link to Employment team to ensure smooth delivery and coordination of service to clients Participate in all meetings as required Handle other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator and the Manager of Program and Services SKILLS, EDUCATION & ATTRIBUTES Post Secondary degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience Two years experience in social service delivery, preferably in employment or settlement services Knowledge of immigrant and labour market trends Proficiency in Windows, MS Word applications and Internet use Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and experience in individual counselling Experience in volunteer management

Knowledge of adult learning principles Sensitivity to and understanding of issues of concern to immigrants and refugees Team player and positive attitude towards change Initiative, energy and persistence in getting the job done Ability to work daytime with some evening and Saturday hours Ability to travel to itinerant service delivery locations Time required: 35 hours per week, Monday Friday Salary Range: $33,600 50,400 Application deadline: Internal September 5, 2011 Start date: Immediately External September 12, 2011
