Call To Remembrance 273 July 01 PM We all have special events in our lives that we are able to call to remembrance.

Memory is part of the thinking process. That is something we all need to do more of. It is important to think more and more about what it is that we can do for our Father and our brethren. When you exercise your mind in your Father's Word, it allows you to recall things that are important to our Father. That brings blessings. A working knowledge of the Word also allows one to recognize false teaching in an instant. Let's begin our study in John. Jesus is telling His disciples that the time draws near for Him to return to the Father. He also promises us that He will not leave us alone and unprotected.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Some would have you believe that the Holy Spirit will place the entire Word of God in your mind with no work as a result of this verse. That isn't what this verse states. You must study the Word to know what it is that Jesus said, before you can call it to remembrance. The Holy Spirit will assist you, but you have to do the work. Memory is a lot like muscles in your body. With no exercise the memory will become flabby and lazy. Let's do a little exercise in a Psalm of David. Psalms 9:1 I will praise [thee], O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. We should all witness and share the wonderful things that God has done for us. 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. If you don't believe this is true, you need to exercise your memory in I Samuel 17 where it is written that David slew Goliath. David put his trust in God. Do you? 9:3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. 9:4 For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right. God always judges right. He shows no partiality or favoritism. Friends, don't ever forget that God's call to remembrance is perfect. He doesn't forget anything, unless you repent and then your sins are blotted out. 9:5 Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. The wicked, including Satan, will be blotted out in the lake of fire. There will be no remembrance of them. 9:6

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. 9:7 But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. It never ceases to amaze me how many Christians shutter at the word "judgment". If you are serving God, judgment day is payday. Rewards are part of judgment. 9:8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. 9:9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Put your rest in Him, and you will find comfort. The troubles of Matthew24/Mark 13 are upon us. You can take refuge and find comfort in your Father throughout that time of trouble. Your Father loves you very much. 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. 9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. God will not forsake those that seek Him. If you are seeking the ways of the world, this promise doesn't apply. 9:12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. God has a perfect memory. He will remember and vengeance will be executed. The cup of His wrath will be poured out. 9:13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble [which I suffer] of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: Satan is death. Remember and do the words of Jesus Christ, and you will have the victory over death. Let's continue our study in the Book of Ezekiel. We are going to hear of Babylon. Babylon means confusion. Many today are confused. Why? They don't think things through as they should. They don't remember the words of Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 21:21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made [his] arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver. All of these were seen as a means of receiving a divine decision. The decision wasn't divine at all, only chance. 21:22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint [battering] rams against the gates, to cast a mount, [and] to build a fort. The king of Babylon is a type for antichrist. This is the battle plan of Satan. Remember, it will be spiritual war. 21:23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

If you want to believe confusion, God will even help you do so. As it is written in II Thessalonians 2:11, "For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." God will not forget their sins, unless they repent of their ways. 21:24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, [I say], that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand. 21:25 And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity [shall have] an end, The wicked prince of Israel is Zedekiah. Zedekiah refused to believe the Lord and placed his trust in others. As a result, his throne was taken from him and promised to the rightful owner Messiah. God doesn't forget iniquity, and He doesn't like divination which is false religion. Turn with me to Isaiah as we continue our study. Isaiah 57:8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered [thyself to another] than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee [a covenant] with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest [it]. False religion leads those that don't study God's Word enough to know better right into the spiritual bed of antichrist. Imagine their shame when the true Christ returns. They will be praying for mountains to fall on them. 57:9 And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase [thyself even] unto hell. Hell is where Satan's bed is. You had better enjoy it while you can, because it is going to cost you a lot. Don't be deceived! Call His Word to remembrance. 57:10 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; [yet] saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved. This would be better translated, "thou has found a hand to mouth life by the length of your journeys". If you make covenants with antichrist that is your future. 57:11 And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid [it] to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not? God will let you jump in the spiritual bed of Satan if you want to. The choice is yours. Remember His Word! 57:12 I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee. 57:13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take [them]: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain; There is only One that is able to deliver you. Your Father wants to give you an inheritance in Mount Zion. Put your trust in God, and call His Word to remembrance. The alternative won't profit you at all. In conclusion, let's turn to Chapter 43. Ezekiel 43:21

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. God created you for Himself. In the Book of Exodus He states His name is Jealous (Exodus 34:14). He doesn't want you messing around with other gods. 43:22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel. 43:23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense. While Israel was in bondage to Egypt God didn't require an offering. As slaves they had nothing to offer. He doesn't want your burnt offerings today. He wants your love (Hosea 6:6). Christ became the Supreme Sacrifice for one and all time. 43:24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. The sweet cane is symbolic of love. Love doesn't require any money. God wants His children to do well just as any flesh father wants his children to do well. But, sins that haven't been forgiven will be remembered. God will serve as the Judge. 43:25 I, [even] I, [am] he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Upon repentance, God will erase your sins from the book. After your sins are blotted out, Father doesn't want to hear about them any more. Listen to this next verse very closely. 43:26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. God is speaking to you in this verse. We already have learned in this study that God never forgets. Why is He saying here, "Put Me in remembrance"? He wants you to remind Him of His promises to you. Why? So that He can be assured you have studied His Word enough to even know what His promises are. After you have reminded Father of His promises, He wants you to sit down and talk about it in prayer. In other words, tell God how He can blot away your sins. After all, He did promise. This is Father's way of testing you, friend. You must claim God's promises to have any right to them. Call the Word of God to remembrance.
