The Book Fair got off to a great start on Monday when all students got to create their wish list. Dont forget to check out the Fair on Friday night between 6.15 and 7.45pm when your children are at the Disco.

Dear Parents

It was wonderful to see the whole school participating in our 'Rhythm Interactive' workshop last week - we fill up the local hall nicely! Both students and staff enjoyed the opportunity to make some noise!

browse and to buy some of the items on those wish lists! The first two classroom upgrades are completed this week. Carpets are being cleaned on Thursday and Room 2 & 3 will move back in on Friday. Once they are back in then Rooms 4 & 5 will move into the activity centre with work due to start on the next two classrooms on Monday. If you would like to help with this then some time given after lunch would be incredibly helpful. Thank you again for your support in this exciting upgrade of our learning spaces. Teachers, students and parents all have a part to play in this process to help make this happen!

We are in the middle of Book week and no doubt you may have seen some 'wishlists' coming home as the different classes visit the displays. This is a great way to purchase some books of interest for your child and in the process know that some of that money is returned to help resource the library.

innovative use and integration of ICT and elearning across several schools in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. This was initiated as part of our involvement in a 3 year ICT cluster of schools and growing the awareness and potential of our staff is a key part of ensuring success during and after our cluster involvement. 2. We also looked at the latest inquiry curriculum report from last term titled 'A safe environment for us and others' in the curriculum areas of Health & PE and Technology, and discussed the progress and achievement collated across the school from the key understandings that underpinned that inquiry. An example from the junior school of the planning process and class diary of learning was shared to further example the increasing success of our enriching curriculum delivery. 3. We discussed the review of the Health & Safety Policy and associated procedures.

There is a lot of excitement building with the disco on Friday night. I look forward to seeing some weird and wacky costumes, awesome dance moves and maybe even a few brave parents! Remember that the book fair is open while the disco is going on so you can pop down to school to have a

School News:
Please Help: We would love it if notes for the office regarding after school arrangements are not dropped over on to the desk as they sometimes get lost. Please put them in the clip on the note holder, thank you.

Sports Notices:
Miniball: team list have gone out this week. Flippaball: notices have gone out today for those that have not played this year. At the moment they are not taking any new teams so we can't promise that new players will get to play. Just incase they do take extra teams, I would like to be organized with names. Any queries please see Paula. Touch (Y0-6) and Football (Y0-6) teams are being made up this week. Please email Paula (paula@myrossbush.school.nz) before Thursday lunch time if you would like your child to play.

Lifestyle Photography: We are very lucky to have Jacqui van Dam return again this year to take photos - individual, or family (including preschool, but excluding older children no longer at our school). Jacqui will be here at school on Thursday 24th September. Look out for the pink slip with this newsletter, and return it to school by Tuesday the 20th if you wish to have a photo taken. They make great Christmas presents, as well as photographic memories. All queries phone Leanne Weaver 230 4299.

Week 7 Term 3
Room 1 are busy producing a presentation for the 'WOW' night and would appreciate some help in the costume department. We are needing any old shirts (preferably white and oversized) for lab coats, any wigs - the whackier the better would also be appreciated. Please send these along tomorrow. Thanks for providing a healthy snack for brain food each morning - it helps keep your child focused and ready for learning. Certificates: Amelia for showing 'kotahitanga' and Fletcher for great organisational skills. Room 2 Our new room is looking amazing and we are looking forward to moving in there, hopefully this week! In maths we have started working on fractions, and in writing we are getting better at describing the characters in our stories. We know what makes a good performance when we are acting for an audience, and we can give feedback to each other about what went well and what we can keep working on. In science, we are beginning to make our own mixtures. We can predict what we think will happen, and observe carefully to see if we were right. Room 3 Weve done a lot of science in Room 3. We made ice blocks with juice and water then put them in the freezer. We found out that it froze the whole ice block and we got to eat it Charlotte and Bailey We are looking forward to going back to our new classroom on Friday. We like everything thats new especially the colours - Isaiah and William Room 4 are working on our movie from the wow night. If anyone has a a white shirt our scientists could wear please send it along to school. We will be shifting on Friday afternoon into the hall. Your help with the move would be welcomed. Thanks Evelyn Room 5 This week in maths we have started our unit on fractions which involves sharing, ordering and finding a fraction of a set using our basic facts. We have started filming our experiments which is always exciting. Some of us really love being on camera. We are very excited that Friday is our turn to make the big shift into the activity centre in preparation for our classroom upgrade. Your help with the shift would be much appreciated. I am very excited about the disco on Friday. Paige Room 6 are cranking with their fractions lately! Most of us can order our fractions and some of us have even been converting fractions to decimals. We are working on our 'WOW' science experiments and we will be looking to start filming this week. Our 'Birthday Celebration, Work Sharing, Singing Exhibition, World Cup Un-assembly' went off really well and thanks to all the parents that came along... and for all the yummy food. This week we will be sharing more of our work and singing another song if anyone wants to come and join us from 2:15. Room 7 Drum oneliners The atmosphere in the hall was AMAZING! Check out our class blog for shorts clips of the afternoon. - Miss S It was fun but loud and really cool because all the teacher joined in. Olivia I really do love drums, drums, drums! Aisling

Room 8 Ruby D - We're doing our science experiments this week. We're making some progress because we've worked out what we know and what we need to find out. I've learnt that water takes a long time to evaporate! Travis - I've learnt how to measure the volume of a balloon. We have to put it into a bucket of water and measure how much water flows out. That's called 'displacement'. We found that out by researching on google. Kees - We've just finished working with Mrs Hughes. We've been working on explanations. My goal is to sequence my ideas into firstly, secondly and finally. It was really fun!

Assembly Notice Un-assembly: come and see your childs class in action at 2.15pm on Friday or to help if they are transferring to a new learning space!
