in the framework of ART GOLD Libya

Dear Mr. Panerati,

It was a pleasure to receive your letter. Your interest give us more motivation to
continue with the same enthusiasm our work in Libya.

ART GOLD MAGRHEB is working to create the conditions for a suitable cooperation
between Libyan local administrations and the European Decentralized Cooperation
Committees.

With these aims we are committed to strenght the local capacities in order to build local
networks and put them in connection with the European excellence centers for the
identification and implementation of projects of cooperation.

In relation to your letter, we are already organizing a mission in Italy with the
participation of the Governor of the Region of Butnan, Mr. Saleh Mohammed Al-Murteja,
and the Coordinator of the Local Working Group, Mr. Hussein El Mabrouk.

The mission aims to identify potential partnerships in the sectors of the public utilities,
the economic development, the introduction of new technologies for the environemnt
protection and management.

It is our interest to present them the Italian best practies as solution of problems like
the waste management, the efficient use of local resources, innovative projects for the
promotion and the enhancement of the entepreneurial activities. One of our objective is
to present to the Governor the model of Local Economic Development Agencies and the
italian experiences of “Concertazione”.

We retain that, togheter, we can plan, in the framework of this mission,

a visit, for the end of June, in the Province of Prato. In that occasion, it Libya
‫ليبيـا‬
will be possible to organize meetings between the local authorities, the
social and economic institution interested to start to cooperate with
Libyan Regions.

Beside the proposed thematic meeting with the qualified operator of Province of Prato
is very interest propasal. We are working to the preparation of Territorial Marketing
Documents at Regional level and a presentation of the country. Libya is a country in
rapid change and day by day this process accelerate.

In the next months it will be possible to organize meeting like you have proposed with
the specific objective to provide exhaustive information regarding the opportunities for
social and economic cooperation.
