Scott Conant

Dr. Scott H. Conant, 54, Sobieski died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 7, 2011. The son of Donald and the late Arlene (Johnson) Conant was born May 18, 1957 in Michigan and lived in the Pulaski area most of his life. On October 27, 1995 he married Beth Liberty in Green Bay. Scott graduated from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in 1984 and served residencies at a number of hospitals throughout the country. He especially enjoyed family medicine. He loved taking care of people. Scott was a gifted guitar player. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, especially at the Hattie Street Bridge. He also was a true Packers fan. An easy going man with a great sense of humor about life, Scott loved everyone unconditionally. He was there for anyone and everyone in need. Scott especially loved spending time with his family. He truly had a heart of gold. He is survived by his wife, Beth; three sons, Matthew Conant and Daniel Conant, both of Sobieski and Shaun Potter, Menominee, MI; three daughters, Kelli Conant, Sobieski, Erin Kirkpatrick, Pulaski and Leigh Kirkpatrick, Menasha; seven grandchildren, Caden, Makenna and Tyler, Armando, Cristian, Jesse, and Mikey; his father, Donald Conant, Marinette; three brothers, Kim (Marie) Conant, Krakow, Ted (Cherie) Conant, Marinette, Paul (Doe) Cooper, Marinette; four sisters, Patty (Mark) Holm, Watertown, Joany (Dave) Shepard, Plymouth, Ruthy (Dave) Masciarelli, Kentucky, and Janey Conant, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2001.

Mary Czarapata, 81, Pulaski, died peacefully Monday, September 12, 2011, at a Green Bay nursing home, following a long illness. The daughter of the late Linley and Harriet (Meyers) Myers was born December 13, 1929, in Marinette. On November 5, 1949, she married Jacob Czarapata in Green Bay. The couple farmed in the town of Pittsfield for many years. Mary had a heart of gold. She was a hard worker and a dedicated wife and mother. She was a member of SS. Edward & Isidore Parish in Flintville, where she belonged to the Altar-Rosary Society. She especially enjoyed bowling, and had been a member of Pineys TV bowling team in Pulaski. Mary loved to dance and won several dance contests in her younger years. She also loved to sing, especially around the house. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel (Tamra) Czarapata, Bonduel, Norbert (Angie) Czarapata, Pulaski, Michael (Gayle) Czarapata, Pulaski, Robert (Sherry) Czarapata, Krakow; two daughters and one sonin-law, Beverly Czarapata and Tim ODonnell, Madison, Donna Czarapata, Crivitz; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, on January 30, 2001; one son, Matthew, in 1984; one brother, Paul.

Walter, who was a cook on a freighter, the William H. Wolf, on the Great Lakes, where she worked in the galley for several years. During World War II she worked at Northern Paper Mill in Green Bay. After her wedding, she spent most of her time taking excellent care of her four sons and Norbert. Irene was well known for her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls, and her pickles. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law; Daniel (Barbara) Dryja, Morgan, David (Cindy) Dryja, Krakow, Mark (Diane) Dryja, Hernando, MS, Greg (special friend Marilyn Ahlswede) Dryja, Krakow; 10 grandchildren, Scott Dryja, Angela (Pat) Ignarski, Craig (Carrie) Dryja, Kristina (Ryan) Klapatch, Damian Dryja, Andrew (Jennifer) Dryja, Alison (Jason) Garcia, Christopher Dryja, Jason (Asha) Dryja, and Kyle Dryja; two greatgranddaughters, Autumn and Morgan; one great-grandson, Caleb; two step-grandsons, David and Shawn (Christie); one sister-in-law, Bernice McDermid, Pulaski, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert, in 2008; six brothers, Jack, Walter, Lester, Randall, Ivan, and James; three sisters, Evelyn, Marie, and Sr. Immaculata. Irene A. (McDermid) Dryja, 94, Krakow, died peacefully Monday evening, September 12, 2011, at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. The daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Hoff) McDermid was born October 18, 1916, in the Town of Morgan and was a lifelong Krakow area resident. On July 24, 1948, she married Norbert Dryja at St. Casimir Church in Krakow. The couple farmed in the Town of Morgan until their retirement. Raymond Schubert, 73, Oconto Falls, former Krakow area resident, died unexpectedly Friday, September 16, 2011 at a Green Bay hospital. The son of Andrew and Lillian (Pichette-Ruatti) Czubkowski was born July 19, 1938 in Krakow. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 1959. Ray worked as a mechanic at Karcz Ford and later, Jims Auto Body in Pulaski. He then owned Rays Zephyr and Ray & Virgies Bar in Krakow until his retirement. He liked working with machinery and also enjoyed farm work. He could tell stories and shoot pool with the best of them. Ray liked the outdoors; hunting, gardening, and picking mushrooms. He is survived by a daughter, Annette (Jeff) Knope, Green Bay; four sons, Allan (fiance Lynn) Schubert, Clintonville; Brian (Tami) Schubert, Krakow; Ron (Colleen) Schubert, Krakow; Ken Schubert, Oconto Falls; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Nicki, Kim, Jenny, Wesley, Chantel, Myrisa, Tyler and Baley; and eight great-grandchildren. Allan Rothlesberger, 77, Pulaski, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. The son of August and Esther (Nischke) Rothlesberger was born July 10, 1934, in the Town of Green Valley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. On June 29, 1957, he married Mabel Rozek at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. Al had been employed at area cheese factories and for the Pulaski Community School District until 1996. He drove bus for Zernicke Bus Lines for 15 years, and also was a part-time driver for the Pulaski Senior Center/American Red Cross. Survivors include four brothers, John (special friend Becky) Rothlesberger, Kaukauna, James (Phyllis) Rothlesberger, Coleman, Ralph Rothlesberger, Appleton, Raymond (Kathy) Rothlesberger, Seymour; one sister, Gertrude (Bill) Buchanan, Appleton; one brother-in-law, Gerald Hoefs, Seymour; nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives and many friends, including Mavis, Matt, Tony, and Mr. and Mrs. Swarn Singh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel, on February 1, 2004; two sisters, Nancy Hoefs and Mary (Marvin) Lowenhagen. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Menasha. Mikie loved traveling, woodworking and writing poems (some of which were published in national magazines). He loved working on the computer and was working on a family tree. Survivors include his mom, Hattie Jarmolowicz, Sobieski; one brother, Tom (JoAnn) Jarmolowicz, Seymour; seven sisters, Rosie Rovinski (Don Gierczak), Green Bay, Barb (Tony) Zimanek, Iowa, Gerrie (George) Ballard, Crivitz, Dottie (Mike) Sternard, Luxemburg, Pat (Ray) Wazny, Sobieski, LaVern (Dan) Labs, Green Bay, Sandy; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends. Thomas Wolak, 78, Krakow, died unexpectedly September 13, 2011 at his home. The son of the late Karol and Frances (Czupa) Wolak was born February 3, 1933 in upper Michigan. On September 5, 1959 he married Barbara Jacobson in Michigan. The couple moved to Krakow, where they farmed and raised their family. Survivors include two daughters; Julie DiTrani, Las Vegas, NV and Judy (Dan) Putnam, Columbia, SC and three sons; Larry (Lynn) Wolak, Las Vegas, NV, Doug (Diane) Wolak, Waukesha, and Vance (Wendy) Wolak, Green Bay; six grandsons; Marco, Dominic, John Thomas, Matthew, Brandon, and Kyle; one brother, Florian Wolak, Crystal Falls, MI; one brother-in-law, Gary Jacobson, Charlotte, MI; one sister-in-law, Tillie Wolak, Dearborn Heights, MI; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
