1 INTRODUCTION

This manual is the installation guide for the Fda Fast Data Analyzer system for acquiring data from programmable controllers (PLCs). The FDA product consists of the following packages: Interbase 1. 2. 3. 4. Server : FdaServer FdaConfigurator DCACom drivers Hasp drivers Vers 6.0

Before installing Server applications, uninstall all previous versions of : Interbase FdaServer DcaCom

First InterBase package has to be installed. All other packages will be installed sequently launching the Server package installation included in the CD. At the end of installations and configurations, be sure to have inserted the hardware key in the parallel port or USB of your Pc. . 1. FdaClient FdaClient

2 INTERBASE INSTALLATION

Remember the following points when installing this software package: For installation always use the program Setup.exe that is situated on the product CD in the directory Server\InterBase. Login as Administrator before performing the installation procedure. This is necessary because the installation procedure modifies several keys in the Windows registry. Uninstall any previous versions of InterBase Server.

Follow these steps to install the product: 1. 2. 3. Start the computer Insert the CD-ROM in the CD drive (this manual assumes it is drive Z) Start the installation program by typing: Z:\FdaServer\InterbaseSETUP.EXE

Use the default value: D:\Program Files\Borland\InterBase or click the Browse button to select a different directory. To continue the installation, press Next . 6. 3 SERVER INSTALLATION
The description that follows refers to installing and configuring the Server.

3.1

INSTALLATION
Remember the following points when installing this software package: For installation always use the program Setup.exe that is situated on the product CD in the directory FdaServer. Login as Administrator before performing the installation procedure. This is necessary because the installation procedure modifies several keys in the Windows registry

FdaServer installation will be started automatically after DCAcom, without launching other Setup programs.

Hasp Drivers installations will be started automatically after the server without launching any SetUp program. HASP Device Driver for Win32s is necessary for hadware Hasp key identification.The absence of drivers installation or of the hardware key doesnt allow FdaServer execution. Installation will start with the following window:

Fig. 13 Driver version for hasp installation Press Next to continue: Press Finish to complete the installation. 3.1.1 COMMUNICATION DRIVERS All the communication drivers in the DCACom system can function in either debug mode or as Windows services. To launch the drivers in Debug mode, specify the option /D on the command line. For example: <InstallDir>:\DCAComXX.exe /FD /SD /D To make the system working properly its necessary to specify the following parameters /FD and /SD. where XX represents the type of driver to launch. Following this command, a window will appear on the screen in which you can see all the log messages written by the communications drivers. Here is a typical example:

For example: <InstallDir>:\DCAComXX.exe /INSTALL This command adds the following element in the list of Windows services: DA$DCACOMXX Follow these steps to activate the communications driver: 1. 2. Open the Windows Control Panel and select the Services icon Select the communications driver: for example DA$DCACOMS7 and press the Start button

Follow these steps to deactivate the communications driver: 1. 2. Open the Windows Control Panel and select the Services icon Select the communications driver: for example DA$DCACOMS7 and press the Stop button

Tab. 1 Parameters of communication drivers 3.1.3 SIEMENS S5 PLC CONFIGURATION Using the DCACom system with the Siemens S5 PLC assumes the proper installation of the Siemens Softnet software package, the ISO Industrial Ethernet communications protocol and the definition of the access points used by the application. SIEMENS S7 PLC CONFIGURATION Using the DCACom system with the Siemens S7 PLC assumes the proper installation of the Siemens Softnet software package, the ISO Industrial Ethernet communications protocol or the TCP/IP protocol and the definition of the access points used by the application. As a function of the protocol chosen, the DCAComS7 driver uses the following access points: S7ONLINE_H1 for the H1 protocol or S7ONLINE_TCP for the TCP/IP protocol. Follow these steps to configure them: 1. 2. Open the Windows Control Panel Select the Setting PG/PC Interface icon

SIEMENS PROFIBUS PLC CONFIGURATION Using the DCACom system with the Siemens S7 PLC assumes the proper installation of the Siemens Softnet software package, the S7-5412 or S7-5613 card and relative management software and the definition of the access points used by the application. The DCAComPB driver uses the access point CP_L2_1. Follow these steps to configure it: 1. 2. Open the Windows Control Panel Select the Setting PG/PC Interface icon

Create the access point CP_L2_1 and associate it to the entry CP5412-(PROFIBUS) or CP5613-(PROFIBUS) Select the Properties button. Enter the address of the local station in the Address field. Set the Profile field to Standard Select the S7 Protocol page and enter the name of the file created with the COML S7 utility in the field S7-API Database Attention: in the S7-API Database, always set the value of the VFD Name field to davfd for all connections Select the Mode page; press the Restart button to initialize the card and the Test button to verify that the card is working properly Press OK two times to end the configuration

ALLEN BRADLEY PLC5 CONFIGURATION Using the DCACom system with the Allen Bradley PLC5 PLCs assumes the proper installation of the RSLinx OEM software package (version 2.2 or higher) and the Ethernet to PLC-5 driver. The RSLinx software requires not further configuration. You must hold the default name AB_ETH-1 when you add the communication driver Ethernet devices.

CONTROL LOGIX 5000 PLC CONFIGURATION The use of the DCACom system with the Control LOGIX 5000 PLCs assumes the proper installation of the RSLinx OEM software package (version 2.2 or higher) and the Remote Devices via Linx Gateway driver. Follow these steps to configure the above-mentioned driver: 1. 2. 3. Launch the RSLinx control panel From the Configurations menu, select Configure Driver In the field Available Driver Types, select the Driver Remote Devices via Linx Gateway and press the Add New button. In the Name field of the Add New RSLinx Driver window, enter the Driver name, for example: TCP-1. In the field Servers IP Address, enter the TCP address of the PLC you wish to interact with. Press OK to accept the changes. Press Close to the Configure Driver window. From the Configurations menu, select RSWho Expand the node TCP-1, Ethernet and select the element Backplane Using the right mouse key, activate the popup menu and select Create Shortcut In the Name field of the Add New RSLinx Driver window, enter the name of the shortcut, for example: SC-1. Press OK to accept the changes. This ends the RSLinx configuration

GE FANUC SERIES 9070 PLC CONFIGURATION Using the DCACom system with the General Electric Fanuc Series 9070 PLCs assumes the proper installation of the HCT Host Communication Toolkit software package (version 2.10 or higher). Follow these steps to configure the above-mentioned driver: 1. Launch the configuration program Comm Config Utility

Select the Ports page Press the New button and create a new port of type TCPIP_ETH. For example: port_1 Select the Devices page Press the New button and create a new device: for example, testplc. Enter the PLC type, the port previously used and the PLC's TCP/IP address. 6. The strings testplc and port_1 are the values to specify in the variables PARAM1 and PARAM2 in the DCACom_Connect function. 7. Press OK to confirm.

3.2 INSTALL FDASERVER AS A WINDOWS SERVICE

To launch the FdaServer as Windows services, specify the option -INSTALL on the command line. For example: <InstallDir>:\Dread.exe INSTALL To remove the FdaServer from the list of Windows services, specify the option -REMOVE on the command line. For example: <InstallDir>:\ Dread.exe REMOVE Open the Srvcmngr.exe application from installdir directory.

Select Danieli Realtime Database server (DReaD) service and show Properties.

If you install FdaClient in a different PC of the Sever one, install also Interbase.

5 FDAOFFLINE INSTALLATION

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

To continue the installation, press Next . 6. Complete the installation by following the instructions shown in the windows that are displayed.

INSTALLATION AND EXPORT OF CONFIGURATION FILE


Fda Application saves nodes (Plc) and measures (Groups and Tags) configurations into a database (Interbase). This informations are saved into only one file called Fda_db.gdb. You have to overwrite that file when you want to transfer the configuration file into another machine (PC). The Fda application must be already installed. Fda_db.gdb must be copy into the following directory : \\<Application Path>\Fda2\Server\DataBase\Fda_db.gdb.
