1. The Township Needs a Plan: Currently, the township has no formal plan other than a basic budget which is required by law. However, when one fund falls short, the General Fund is tapped without question to cover the expenses. We need to investigate why the budget was short and explain to the residents why this happened. Once again I strongly believe in communication from the residents, and I would highly encourage each and every one to attend the meetings and see for yourself why a change is needed on the current board! We need a board that can work as a team for the betterment of our community. This economy no longer affords us the ability to continue to operate in a business as usual manner. 2. Open Communication between the residents and the Board: I believe strongly in open government and making the community part of that plan. By making the community part of the plan we realize the needs of the community at whole and we are then able to incorporate those needs into the operational plan formula. Having an open government allows for the residents to see exactly how their tax dollars are being allocated, and affords them the ability speak out when they have concern on those allocations. 3. Organization and staying ahead of Township business: Currently the township appears to make decisions on important issues without taking the necessary time to completely evaluate all possible avenues. One example is that when insurance comes up for renewal we wait to a point where there is no time set up a bid spec. and then bid out the policy. We are then stuck in a business as usual situation and the only option is to renew our current policies. The organizational skills I bring fourth will allow us to plan ahead and be prepared to select from numerous options which will best fit the current needs of township residents and remain within the current allocated expenditures, or to reduce expenses using the competitive bid process. The township needs to use the competitive bid process to leverage the best possible options for spending our tax dollars.

Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you?

I have over 20 years experience working in government along with ten plus years private business experience in multiple industries. I further have attended both undergraduate and graduate University programs that have educated me in both government and business operations. With that combination of experience I bring a way to blend business practices into government affairs that allow for efficient operation. If government is run like a business instead of a country club, and effective business management practices are put in place our government will be in a position to provide the essential services in a cost effective manner that the residents expect and deserve for the tax dollars they put forward.
