From the East: I want to thank all those who came out to the Family Picnic and Widows Luncheon. I also want to thank those that brought food to the picnic and to Hollyn Foster for making all the food arrangements for the Widows luncheon. And last but not least, I want to thank the Recycles band for coming out to play for the luncheon. Lodge Tradition is for officers to return to Blues and Greys after Labor Day. I neglected to put this in the last Tressleboard so I am including it in this one. We will return to wearing Blue and Grey this month. Our lodge will be hosting the Secretary and Treasurer Training on the 7th. MW Richard Lynn will be conducting the training. The training is really important for those serving in these roles, those wishing to occupy these chairs in the future and those officers who plan to eventually sit in the East. We will also be hosting the Zone School of instruction on the 12 th and will be going over the 2nd section of the Master Mason Degree. Not only is this part the culmination of the three degrees, it is the most complicated to put on. This training will be good for everyone that knows the work to those that have never done it and want to begin helping with this degree. There is no better way to learn a degree than being part of these schools of instruction. The regular school of instruction will be at Duval Lodge #159 this month and will emphasize the EA Degree. On October 24th we will have a Fellow Craft Degree with R.H. Corey Kosciuszko sitting in the East. Please check with him on how you can assist with this degree. The Thanksgiving dinner has been scheduled for the 12 th of November at noon. It is not too early to sign up to help the Junior Warden. He will need volunteers to cook Turkeys and Ham at home and will need assistance in the kitchen before and after the dinner.

By now some of you will have received your final notice to pay your 2011 dues. After this there will be no more reminders and on December 27, 2011 your membership will be suspended unless payment is received. Right now my list is too long and I believe that I have reminded all who have not paid either by phone or email or both. Of course I always put a reminder in the Trestleboard. It is up to you if you want to retain your membership. The Secretarys job is still open for 2012. I have had a little interest in it. If you think you might like to run for Secretary there is an important training session at Orange Park Lodge th on Friday, October 7 . M.W. Richard Lynn, Grand Secretary of Florida will give a training class that will detail the duties and obligations of a lodge secretary. He will also outline the Treasurers duties and obligations. This would be a great time to find out just what these two important offices in a lodge are all about. Charlie
